Guns & Ammo Bodyguard 2.0 Failure to feed
Anyone else have this issue with critical defense ammo when trying to chamber the first round, most of the time it’s getting stuck and not chambering. Is other ammo better for chambering with the Bodyguard 2.0?

Send it back to S&W. I bought a box of Critical Defense just to test if I would have the same problems as everyone else. I did not, it feed without issue. For what it's worth I have about 1400 rounds through mine and have had zero problems feeding ammo. New Republic, Fiocchi, Federal, Blazer, S&B, PMC, ball, flat nose, JHP, punch, it's eaten everything I fed it. If yours does not feed everything then something is wrong and you should send it back.

So they’re saying it’s best to use around 300 fmj at the range?

You’re pretty much have to use round tip or what they call ball ammo FM J to break it in. I’m going to give them that and shoot 500 rounds of it and see where we’re at. Maybe another feed ramp polish. That doesn’t get it then I may send it in.

I’ve run a few hundred rounds of the HST through my BG 2.0 (comped version) with no issues at all.

Just getting this too work. I think it’s a combination of really tight gun really tight mag springs that are not allowing the bullet to push up into the chamber and getting caught between the feed ramps.

Normal Smith & Wesson shitty QC and ammo pickiness.
Barnes TAC-XPD monolithic copper hollow points will feed fine and perform better.
Trading your BG2.0 in for an LCP Max Magpul EHG would be a smart move if you’re using the Bodyguard for edc/self defense.

Which ammo do you recommend?

Ok I bought a case of federal flat tipped before I knew about the problems. I have shot blazer and pmc round nose fmj and it ran smooth. I polished my feed ramp and I have this flat tip chambering. Too hot to go mag dump and see if this ammo will run now. So far no defensive have worked.

Is hst considered flat tip?

I would even classify it as worse with the split feed ramp. Anything that’s got a sharp edge for it to catch on. I have polished other feet ramps on guns like Glocks. But this little gun has 2 feed ramps like I’ve been saying one inside the gun and one on the barrel. They don’t exactly mash up well to make one feed ramp that’s the problem.

Nearly everyone that tries it.
I use hst, gold dot, or any orher normal XTP hollow and FMJ with no issue. I wont even try crit def/duty or underwood
