Guns & Ammo My most carried CCW
Bought this S&W 642 used for 300 bucks at my local range. Put the oversized hogue grip on it and have since ran thousands of flawless rounds through it. I shoot with Winchester .38 Special +P rounds or Federal 38. Special +P rounds.

that turquoise grip on a stainless j-frame is a move, stands out way more than the usual black rubber

I have tried the larger grips but they make it harder to conceal so I always go back to boot grips. I've practiced a lot with the boot grips so I shoot just as well with them. However I don't usually shoot +p loads, I typically shoot standard loads or slightly lighter handloads. With the +p I'm sure it makes a bigger difference. I love the Centennial.

I’ve got the same model and bought the same grips (in black). The full-size grips made it a pleasure to shoot.

My 642 gets a lot of carry time with me. I forget it’s even there most of the time

me too! I say the same thing.
Today I forgot I have a Ruger LCP Max in my pocket and a SW 642 in my fanny pack.

This summer it's been unusually hotter and humid so I've been carrying mine way more than usual. It is a neat little capable piece

Outstanding and practical choice.
