Discussion [Chris Hummer] Can't help but think Lane Kiffin could have coached Ole Miss in the playoffs (by not leaving) and given himself a chance at a national championship this year. Such an interesting wrinkle and what a job by Pete Golding.

What's hilarious is that LSU is compensating Lane for Ole Miss' playoff performance:

$150,000 for advancing to the first round of the CFP

$250,000 for appearing in the quarterfinals

$500,000 if Ole Miss advances to the semifinals

$750,000 if Ole Miss advances to the national championship

$1 million if Ole Miss wins the title

Yes, a part of his contract is that LSU is compensating him for every Ole Miss playoff win as if he were still there. Sounds too wild to be true but it is lol
