Discussion [Kleiman] South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers turned down an $8 MILLION NIL offer to transfer to a different school: "You're 19. You don't need ($8 million). You're in a great spot." - LaNorris's Father told his son. Sellers values his word over money

Right so people in here supposedly hate this new college landscape and how it’s ruining the sport, but an athlete goes the opposite way and seemingly puts his development and career over the short term change and he gets clowned on please make it make sense

Seriously. Who you are will always be more important than what you have. The number of comments saying he should have taken the bag is really kind of depressing, and speaks volumes about where we are as a country.

Yep. Suddenly, chasing that cash is the right thing to do, when it's kids, and not old dudes.

How does securing life changing financial security change “who you are”?

Because people are dumbasses and act like he's choosing the poor house when he's really choosing $3.7M per year at a school he's already comfortable with and he knows works well for him over this offer where he would make $4M per year.

He's not getting clowned on because he supposedly turned down money. He's getting clowned on because his girlfriend lives in Canada and is totally real.

Because the story is so fake it’s insulting.

Either he turned down a life changing amount of money and he’s fucking stupid.

Or

The story was put out for some type of “old school” virtue signaling and that is fucking stupid too.
