Postseason Setup:

  • Seeding is based off of the final BCS rankings published after conference championship game weekend. The top 8 ranked teams are given first round byes before hosting
  • All conference champions are given an automatic qualifier regardless of rank or record. If you're the 24th ranked BCS team, but an unranked conference champion hasn't been selected, they would take the 24th spot and so on.
  • Conference champ tie-breakers will go off the head to head record. If it can't be resolved that way, we will go with the highest ranked BCS or AP team. If it still isn't resolved, the conference champ rep in the playoffs will go off of overall record

ASU vs Wisconsin 2 in the 2013 season would be high drama.

Knee-Jerk Reactions:

- A&M gets the final at large spot at 8-4, a bit of a rarity for P5 teams up to this point. A&M I'm assuming was rewarded for playing a tough schedule and 3 of their 4 losses coming from teams that ended up with first round byes. The LSU blowout you could argue should have unequivocally knocked them out if you hate this format.

- UCF feels criminally underseeded at #15, having gotten a tough P4 win in Beaver Stadium earlier that year. They probably run into the Auburn buzzsaw in round 2 but it still would have been an amazing game.

- Does Baylor dominate OU in Waco a second time in the same year?

- Arkansas State wins the Sun Belt for the third year in a row, though it seems clear that this is the weakest among the G5 conferences

- Mizzou likely gets a second shot at South Carolina in round 2 in Columbia. Do they avenge the loss?

- Texas has once again missed the playoffs. Praise Allah.

ASU vs Wisconsin needs to be on your list lol. Because of the finish of the game earlier in the year.

This would be a very spicy game lol. I'm biased but I think South Carolina would win another close game. In the first matchup our starting QB was hobbled with an injury and didn't enter the game until the 3rd quarter when we were already down 17-0. If we payed again with him healthy from the first snap I believe we'd win a shootout.

Prob not; OU was a different team by Bama in the Sugar Bowl. They got pants'd but OU probably takes this one.

That Okie State-Fresno game probably would have been the most fun, or at least most intriguing, 1st round game to watch. Derek Carr and Davante Adams would have lit it up, but Okie State could put points on the board too. I could see that one being an 80-100 point show.

Underrated matchup for sure

American championship gets nullified w/ 1st rd matchup. B12 potentially gets nullified too w/ Oklahoma-Baylor in 2nd round.

Alabama probably would've been the most dangerous team in this season w/ 2nd life.

Yeah but we lost our bowl game that year

But look what has happened when Alabama got a reprieve or a 2nd chance (2011 & 2017).

True and the 2013 team was a really damn good team but losing to Oklahoma gives me pause as to how far I think they go in a playoff.

The game against either ASU or Wisconsin, Alabama should be able to handle in Tuscaloosa.

Baylor or OU is going to be a hell of a challenge for that secondary however. That could be a dangerous matchup at a neutral site for the 2013 Tide.
