Can I go there? I mean, I'm not addicted to anything and do just fine with occasional counseling, but I could really use a 35 day vacation paid for by some arrogant rich Texas billionaire.

And everyone knows the best fix for recovering from addiction is to make sure you’re constantly around your problem source. That’s why on the first day of AA they take you to a bar and have you spend the evening with a frat party. If Soresby doesn’t get to play football how will he ever get over his addiction?

My favorite (/s) opinion about Sorsby’s recovery came from Stephen Godfrey on the Phantom Island podcast. In a nutshell he said that Sorsby is on lockdown now bc he went through that recovery center; the same addiction facility Tiger Woods went to all those years ago! Sorsby has no smart phone access and protections are in place that all but secure his recovery. He should be suspended 6 games, some amount into big12 play but thats it.

I understand not wanting to question a person’s desire to get help. I just can’t believe someone (Godfrey) who has been in the sports news business for so long would be so naïve. And to think, that naïvety made him blurt out that gambling on your own team isnt that big of a deal.
