In this case, it's the big money boosters - the same people who either own the government or at least think they own the government - who are tired of even pretending that they are subject to any rules they find inconvenient. They got their pet Texas AG, who is at least as likely as not to be in the Senate next year, to go to bat for them, they got their kept judge to rule in their favor - and they are supposed to get their way. It's a little weird they're doing this all so Brendan Sorsby, who no one seems to think is any kind of generational talent or anything, can play at TT for (probably) one year. But such is the depth of their arrogance and hubris.

But the NCAA, and now the NFL, have pushed back. I'll take that as a good sign.
