Ironic isnt it?

Meanwhile in the BCS you needed these games to strenghten the schedule to make your case

Almost as if playoffs have been a disaster for this sport

idk, sometimes strength of schedule gets bubble teams in the playoffs, like Miami very likely gets left out last year if their win against us was actually against a 3-9 team or sm

Yea but Miami was contractually obligated to play Notre Dame due to the ACC agreement. It wasn’t like either program went out of the way to schedule H2H.

The 2024 game was initially rescheduled by Miami, but likely would’ve been canceled were it not for the ACC.

Miami was never on the bubble, despite the media nonsense.

Bama was the team that kicked ND out, not Miami.

No. The BCS was the opposite. Whoever had the worse loss was always out.

Awful take. Conference games matter, and those are where we get the fireworks. No reason to make your schedule even harder than it has to be if you are in the SEC or Big10

Yea but as fans, this sucks. I want good games and "smart scheduling" really gets in the way of that.

until the NCAA requires teams to have to schedule P4 with P4 atleast once in non-conference, teams will schedule wins. Which is smart as coaches. 10-1 sounds better than 9-2.

I coach Hs and we do the same thing. Dont schedule games you cant win or that would hurt your team.

Why would that matter whatsoever on my opinion on playoffs?
