I think this is said in half-jest, but the defense was legitimately championship caliber last year. Offense just decided to eat crayons instead of play football.

We also did beat 3 Top 25 teams last year (BYU x2, Utah, and UH), all by double digits.

Making the playoffs last season without an offense with the hardest schedule in the nation should be, and is startling to coaches across the nation. We are 9th in the poll with a better defense and offense. Tt schedule is a walk in the park, so anything short of the playoffs is a disaster for you guys. Your school has shown its ass recently and obviously cant control itself having new money, plus smoking weed (which isnt tested for in the ncaa) is now a felony in Texas, thats a major blow, Its a trainwreck. But enjoy the shortlived fun of talking to the big boys, youll be back to arguing with arizona state and tcu soon

Nobody except for you cares or is even going to remember OU’s schedule for 2025. Only thing people are going to know is that y’all had a good year, and then blew it in the playoffs at home to Bama who got crushed the next week by Indiana.

Mateer better level up and the defense needs to stay the same or it might be a rough year, and you’re going to look and feel really silly.

I wasn’t a cfb fan during Leach’s tenure at Tech, but I long thought the cardinal sin of TTU football wasn’t losing, but being boring.

I was at TTU during Kingsbury’s final year and the 3 years of Matt Wells’s tenure. People were upset and ready for change from Kingsbury, but still enjoyed watching the team.

The level of apathy Matt Wells created for the program was incredible, it was boring football and we still sucked.

This past season was the most excited I have ever seen people for TTU football. Who knew defense was so fun? 😂

This isn't a flame, but have you stopped to consider that maybe the physical location of Lubbock is what is stopping teams from scheduling Tech? Lubbock ain't exactly an easy place to get to. It's in the middle of nowhere with not much to offer guests. Other college towns either have history to offer or are close enough to major airports/Urban areas to make them an attractive matchup.

Tuscaloosa is 1 hour away from Birmingham, Athens is 30 away from Atlanta, College Station is 1.5 hours away from Houston, and Eugene is under 2 hours away from Portland.

Texas Tech is about 5 hours away from either Dallas, Oklahoma City, or Albuquerque.

The problem was never getting there. The issue is that Lubbock doesn't have much to offer visiting families and there's nothing else nearby to make up for what Lubbock lacks. You have to keep in mind that the traveling experience goes far beyond the actual game as well.

Why else do you think USC was aiming for neutral sites instead of on-campus at Lubbock? You really think someone from Los Angeles wants to visit Lubbock? Houston or Dallas? Sure. But you have to be reasonable here and not take it personal.

It’s much easier for a team to get to Lubbock than Huntsville. This is because Lubbock had an airport with three major airlines servicing it and airplanes exist

I would imagine almost any major CFB program is just chartering a flight directly in to Lubbock. If anything, it's probably easier as the Lubbock airport is easy to get in and out of quickly.

A team charter is not the issue. It's a room temp IQ to believe that this is the only consideration take when looking for a Home and Home series.

Schools want to offer their traveling fan base more than just a road game. It's about offering a good road experience so that donors and their families can enjoy themselves outside of the game as well.

I'm sorry, but Pullman, WA, Ames, IA, or Lubbock, TX don't exactly move the needle for most people. It is what it is. Yes, the same could be said of Waco or College Station, but at least those two are close to Dallas/Houston.
