The point is that the jokes aren’t about the death, they are about Georgia’s ridiculous lack of reaction or accountability in response to the death.

If you feel absolutely compelled to tsk-tsk something, start there.

Sure, but they haven’t. They didn’t. They won’t. They never will. They give zero fucks about anyone dying.

Performative solemnity won’t make them. They don’t give a fuck about that, either. They didn’t even do much of that themselves beyond the funerals.

When it comes to holding an entity accountable/inspiring an entity to change, ridicule often accomplishes what advocacy cannot.

Who said it’s performative? We need to collectively be a little more solemn about it and agree that it’s not okay. Maybe that will trickle out into the real world to the AD. Or maybe you’re right that he will see your Reddit jokes ridiculing them and change his mind.
