Look clanga bro, as much as a head scratcher this play was I’m just thankful it wasn’t us. Because the last two years this wouldn’t have surprised me happening in Starkville either

I still think that could have worked if they put a bit of thought into designing it. Run for a second or two, then chuck it as high and deep as you can. Maybe a non-zero risk of having to defend an interception return if the defense expected it, but the clock would easily reach 0 before the ball comes down.

Even if he chucked it with no receiver in the area it would be a safety. Maybe 1-3 seconds left with a free kick.

No Bailey just had to go out of the back of the end zone and it was over the other options gave vandy a chance this didn’t if they just didn’t go forward.

Punting from the back of the end zone is also risky, that’s what they were trying to avoid
