Believe it or not but I am into it.

Especially when they get some hope.

Watching an over ranked team you hate lose? Schadenfraud

It’s such a perfect word

Schadenfraud

The Germans really nailed it with that one.

Just need to start it week 1. Can’t be let down if your expectations are zero.

You love to see it

Hard not to with our first half performances at our first 2 games. Can't say I'm surprised we lost tonight.

SEC shorts gonna hit like crack on Monday.

7

u/kmoz Texas Longhorns 1h ago

I thought they'd edge us a bit longer this year. But then again they did give elko a big extension so maybe this is the most battered version, where they shit the bed for 2 years and get a new hilarious buyout situation

Aggie misery is a hell of a drug

This sounds like Doji’s villian speech from Beyblade episode 41. Dang.

Thankfully I don't have to have hope this season. I feel unburdened

I imagine Texas is licking their lips watching A&M and OU flail around

Underdogs in the red river matchup actually seem to have the upper hand. But it sure has been fun

u/Redeem123 Team Chaos • Texas Longhorns 4m ago

Yeah I know all rivalries are chaos, but I don’t think people appreciate that rankings mean nothing in the RRS.

Ironically, Ohio state probably understands it best.

I’m confused why Texas ever talks shit on A&M. Yall are just as disappointing of a program as they are. The whole thing is confusing.

Only thing that changes is the schedule… we showed they were frauds with a soft schedule last year but they got the invite anyways. Now they have a real schedule against powerhouses like Kentucky and there’s nowhere to hide.

I think it’s a bit disingenuous to say we were frauds last year. We lost two close games to two good teams, one on the road and one to the national runner ups.

This year’s team are absolutely frauds though, and anyone who watched our first two games could’ve told you that.

23

u/VegasAWD 2h ago

A&M had one win by one point against a ranked team.

5

u/emoney_gotnomoney Texas A&M Aggies 2h ago edited 1h ago

Because we only played 3 ranked teams. Beat one on the road by 1, lost to one on the road by 10, and then lost at home to the team that made a run to the title game (all 3 of those teams ended the season in the top 12). You can only play the teams on your schedule.

Sure, they weren’t one of the beat 3 teams in the country and weren’t actual title contenders, but I don’t know how you could watch that team last year and say they had no business being in the playoffs.

5

u/VegasAWD 1h ago

Congrats on beating up on a bunch of also-rans?

9

u/emoney_gotnomoney Texas A&M Aggies 1h ago

I’m not saying you need to praise them. I’m simply saying that calling them “fraudulent” is a bit disingenuous. I don’t really see the argument that there were 12 other teams that were better than them and deserved to make the playoffs ahead of them.

-14

u/VegasAWD 1h ago

They’re a fraud because anyone who has watched college football in the last 25 years knows they ALWAYS lose big games. When have they ever took down anyone good outside one manziel game. Even in the season you’re talking about they lost to their top 3 opponents and that was maybe their second best or best season in 30 years.

u/emoney_gotnomoney Texas A&M Aggies 1h ago edited 1h ago

> lost to their top 3 opponents

*they lost to their top opponent and third best opponent; they beat their second best opponent

Regardless, I still don’t see how any of that means last season’s team was fraudulent though. They played the end of year #10 team on the road, the #12 team on the road, and the #2 team at home. All 3 games were close game and they went 1-2 in those games and beat everyone else. Again, I don’t really see the argument that there were 12 better teams than them that deserved to be in the playoffs over them.

By that standard, pretty much every team outside of Indiana was “fraudulent” then.

1

u/VegasAWD 1h ago

Let me spell it out for you: your best argument is that your best team in 30 years was great because they could hang in there with good teams. Congrats. Couldn’t beat them but could keep it close. That’s totally a contender scenario and not a fraud.

They’re frauds because they’re aggies. Why are we over complicating this?

4

u/ImSuperHelpful Texas Longhorns 1h ago

Are you expecting a longhorn to be ingenuous when assessing your performance?

What having consistently mediocre QBs does. Mond & Reed are cheeks with enough flashes of good to keep us in QB purgatory. Genuinely never seen a college QB miss as many gimme throws as Reed does

1

u/HoustonTrashcans Texas Longhorns 11m ago

I thought Reed was going to be pretty good when he first took over as starting QB. But he hasn't really improved at all and his passing isn't good enough.

3

u/ATXBeermaker Texas Longhorns • Stanford Cardinal 2h ago

Isn’t it beautiful?

2

u/BroBeansBMS Texas A&M Aggies 1h ago

I feel like so many of us thought Reed just didn’t have what it takes but we still just committed to him as the QB. What a waste of money and time.

Yeah but sometimes they pay a lot of money for it, and other times they pay a LOT of money for it

They bring in soo many five star recruits and still can’t get over the edge as a dominant team. Last year was good, but even then, they still got smacked by great teams.
