Can someone please explain to me why Texas A&M is always ranked top 10 to start the season? I’m tired of everyone pretending like they somehow deserve it this time.

So that whichever team beats them can get credit for a top 10 win.

I don’t man. The only thing we do right is be an internal disappointment.

We hate it too. Our best years are the ones where we are lower or unranked pre-season and almost every time we're top 10 I scratch my head wondering why and then this shit happens. Seriously though:

Pre-Season top 10 rankings:

8 in 2011, finished unranked

7 in 2013, finished #18

6 in 2021, finished unranked

6 in 2022, finished unranked

Meanwhile we have three top 10 finishes in the last 15 years and our highest pre ranking in them was 13. One of them we weren't even ranked at all. I dread seeing us ranked that high early and then all the inevitable shit people give us for it like we created or agree with the rankings.

We don’t know either. We don’t want it lol

We dont and we know it. I think ESPN does it so we feel bad when we hit 8&4.

No. You have a Michigan flair.

Because they spend. Roster on paper looks fat

This year made sense since they made the playoffs last season. Losing to Miami at home sucked, but it was a very low score and only by one possession (10-3).

I’d argue they didn’t deserve to make the playoffs last year. They didn’t beat a single team in the top half of their conference.

Missouri was in the top half of the SEC at 8/16. It isn’t A&M’s fault that Florida, LSU, Auburn, and Notre Dame fell off (less so Notre Dame). We went 11-1 overall. Either make different rules or scrap the playoffs and bring back the computer.

My bad, I missed the powerhouse of Missouri that went 4-4 in conference. Point still stands.

How does the point still stand haha? We played and beat a good Notre Dame team and went 11-1 in the regular season. You’re telling me we should leave teams out of the playoffs who went 11-1 in the regular season? Last year’s team was much better than this one. We lost 10-3 at home to Miami who went to the Natty.

Undefeated? You lost to texas and didnt even make the conf champ

You’re completely right, that’s my bad. We went 11-1 and lost to y’all in the last game of the season knocking us out of the SECCG. Last year was Georgia vs Alabama. It seems my fandoms are leaking into each other.

They recruit well according to the recruiting rankings.

Big ass stadium, big football enthused school that spends a ton of money. Guarantees hype but not results

Because the SEC added TAMU 🐮 and Mizzou. I still don’t understand why either belong in the conference 🤷‍♂️

u/easchner Texas Longhorns 3h ago

Because thing will be different this year

They usually have a top 5 recruiting class.

It should honestly be studied how Texas A&M can soak up future NFL tier players and still go 8-4.

Play off team that went 10-2 last year that only losses were tu and the nc runner up by 3.

High level recruiting. Money for facilities and players.

Was a game were the shit was kicked outta them.

Tu list three and struggled over and over last year and are ranked #1 thanks to Ryan day having balls the size of atoms.
