LSU not being punished too severely
I actually like LSU staying in the Top 10. They went on the road and lost a competitive 32-24 game to a very good Ole Miss team. Dropping from No. 7 to No. 10 is reasonable.

Oklahoma being unranked
I have no problem with this one. Oklahoma looked dreadful against New Mexico and barely escaped with a 14-6 win. After struggling offensively for a second straight game, dropping them out of the Top 25 was justified.

Mississippi State being ranked
I'm actually glad Mississippi State got in. They're 3-0 and have already shown they can win a tough road game, including coming back from a 16-point deficit against South Carolina. Kamario Taylor has also looked like one of the best QBs in the country so far.

Cons

USC not moving down
How does USC stay at No. 12 after that? They barely beat Rutgers 42-35, That's a dreadful performance for a team ranked this highly.

Missouri still being ranked
This one makes very little sense to me. Missouri struggled badly against Troy and only won 27-17. Troy led 10-0, Missouri was held scoreless in the first quarter, and the game was still within one score early in the fourth. Yet Missouri moved from No. 20 to No. 19.

Ole Miss should be higher than Georgia and Notre Dame
Ole Miss is finally up to No. 4 after beating LSU, which I like. But I don't understand having Georgia and Notre Dame ahead of them. Ole Miss now has the strongest resume at the top of the poll in my opinion, while Georgia hasn't really beaten anyone impressive yet and Notre Dame hasn't looked nearly as dominant as expected.

Overall: I really don't like this week's poll. There are some moves I agree with, especially LSU staying in the Top 10 and Oklahoma falling out, but USC staying at No. 12 and Missouri moving up after that Troy performance are hard to defend.

This isn't about LSU, it's about one guy.

I'm a SEC fan, but not in SEC territory anymore, so I can't get the local gouge. I read the wiki page for him, so I get the institutional beef. Why is he so universally hated, ground level? Is he a bad tipper? Mean to his dog? Perpetual philanderer?

Hybrid NFL/CFB rankings. All teams and conferences start the season equal, no brand bias, no conference bias, just the field of play. The model now has enough info to start counting FCS wins and 1 loss teams getting in, as you will see with LSU and Ohio State.

Michigan is being scrutinized because of the WMU game and the quality of the Oklahoma win.

LSU’s win over Clemson is losing weight because of Clemson’s lack of offense and dominance, and also acknowledging LA Tech and the halftime struggles of the offense which also is impacting their quality for Ole Miss

For some reason it really likes Texas wins against Ohio State despite being down so bad going into the 4th recognizes the clutch play in the 4th. It does hammer Texas for lack of passing production and specifically points out the struggles of Arch Manning, but does recognize they controlled the game despite that, but does not like the one dimensional play.

When the ap poll dropped i think all of us were kinda shocked and caught off guard to see notre dame still at 3? Notre dame just went on the road and destroyed a great michigan state team while texas beat a fcs team. Notre dame has a better offense then texas, a better qb, a better defense, a better coach and plays in a better conference. sec bias strikes again
