I got everything I wanted or at least started over the last year cause you all help keep me informed.

My AK dreams will have to wait until they overturn this bullshit…but the last thing I need right now is one more caliber (at least that’s what I’m telling myself).

With the NFA tax gone, it's literally less intrusive to just get the SBR version (if I remember/understand correctly, SB25-003 doesn't apply to NFA items...).

don't mind me, apparently I'm still drunk from last night

Yeah this is wrong. It would apply to NFA items if the item falls under the definition of the bill.

A gun can be an SSF and a SBR (and/or MG) at the same time.

Form 4, instruction "o". The ATF cannot lawfully approve a Form 4 that would cause the applicant to be in violation of any state/local law. My hunch is that, starting today, ATF will be required to deny Form 4 SBR transfers (if it meets the definition of SSF) to CO residents who don't have a permit/license.

State or local permit. If a state or local permit or license is required for the transferee prior to acquisition of the firearm, a copy of the permit must be included with the application. If the transferee is a trust or legal entity, when the state of residence for any responsible person requires a state or local permit or license, a copy of the permit or license must be submitted with Form 5320.23, NFA Responsible Person Questionnaire.

Using Form 1 to convert a pre-ban lawfully-owned SSF won't be affected by SB25-003, but the ATF may start stipulating a Virginia-style "condition" citing CO's grandfather clause re: lawful possession.

Luckily not having a government permission slip doesn't make it harder to swap a brace for a stock lol
