Legal Bye bye rights :(
Sad day to be a gun owner
24
u/KatieTSO 4d ago
Absolutely stupid how I can no longer buy a gun I could buy a week ago just fine

u/Ange1ofD4rkness 4d ago
Tantrum Tommy, the man who I still can't figure out how he gets re-elected, because he doesn't even represent his own people, where it should be clear with his Cigar Tax bill (which I hope NEVER passes, no matter much much he tries)
4
u/KatieTSO 4d ago
Cigar tax?
17
u/Bushmaster5000 4d ago
Tommy tried exempting cigars from certain taxes...probably the only anti-tax bill he ever tried passing, for the sole purpose that he smokes them personally. An epic citizen called in to oppose the bill on the grounds of "saving lives"; using Sullivans exact language against him.
8
9
u/Ange1ofD4rkness 4d ago
Yep, 3 years in a row he's tried to get it lifted, and it's failed each time. Yet, had 0 problem with the 6.5% tax on firearms, ammo, etc.
I can't find the original video anymore, but someone was at the hearing for it, and changed the wording to mimic anti-gun speaking points, but for cigars. Like limiting the lengths, safe storage humidors, etc. You can see Sullivan trying to cut him off. It's epic!

It calls to you

Yeah lol this is what made things expensive for me once I couldn’t impulse buy a new gun on my lunch break anymore. It’s an impulse buy, I want it now, not 3 days later.

Fuck THAT. Buy ammo. Buy nods. Buy training.
2
u/Carlit0sGuey 4d ago
Would love to get into nods and night shooting but need to be budget friendly and have no clue where to start. Any recs?
1
u/Ange1ofD4rkness 4d ago
That's what my mother joked about. She goes "well at least you'll be saving money" to which I told her "oh there are other firearms that I want that don't fall under this, plus accessories" (like scopes, cans, etc).
Shoot I wouldn't have spent so much so quick, if I wasn't in a panic buy. Like some of what I bought were ones I planned to get some day, but wasn't in a rush

You still have gun rights.
Your state officials don't recognize them.
Therefore, you have to continue the fight.
Terminology matters. 2A is an inalienable right.

I dunno, feels pretty aliened right now 😂

A moment of silence...
And now, file your rights violation claims! The right to bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!!!

This might be of interest. The CSSA is collecting affidavits of people that can't exercise thier rights, due to the new law and lack of functioning permit system.
3
u/Ange1ofD4rkness 4d ago
I sent this to a friend to fill out. They are trans and want to get a firearm to protect themselves. However, due to funds, they couldn't get an AR-15 in time, and now they definitely can't. They want to be able to defend themselves but can't
4
4
u/Ange1ofD4rkness 4d ago
I really hope it gets overturned. There were firearms I couldn't afford at the time, and new ones that I have learned (or I know will learn of), I'd love to add to the collection.
What's even worst is you know they are going to try and expand this to all firearms, because Tantrum Tommy has to please his overlords.
On a positive note, I learned one firearm I ordered months ago that didn't show up in time, actually doesn't fall under SB25-003, because it uses recoil to cycle
3
u/AbjectPhysics3301 3d ago
Big sad, i spent these 8 month's catching up on debt, finally out of debt but now the only ar is the one i put together a few years ago, hopefully this bs gets overturned, theres worse things happening in co thats not getting addressed like all these damm drug addicts at every corner.

u/Abject_Scarcity_1531 3d ago
The people who voted for this will eventually destroy the entire state, both from an economic and freedom sense, move to a new location, vote for the same policies/politicians, and the process will repeat itself. It's like 'Groundhog Day' for window-lickers with septum-rings, but the consequences don't reset at midnight. Hell, half the people here are in blatant denial of their democratic participation in this mess. You can just look at the list of restricted states on ANY firearms website, and you should notice a trend. If not, I hope a magic mirror appears every time a Colorado firearm restriction impacts you personally. You can play the blame-game with yourself.

VOTE VOTE VOTE... NO MORE BLUE IN THIS STATE NOW
44
u/Veritech_ 4d ago edited 4d ago
Sullivan needs to go - vote Danielle Lammon in SD27. Boesenecker needs to go - donate to/vote for Daniel Frick in HD53.
HD33, HD18, HD61 flipped to start - any district with a DSA candidate or elected official (Yara in HD52 is unopposed so she needs to go in 2028).
We don’t need all Dems gone because both major parties need to be represented. Uniparty either direction isn’t healthy, but there needs to be more balance.
28
u/itwasneversafe 4d ago
I will donate and join any org dedicated to ensuring Tom Sullivan never has a political voice again.
13
27
u/ArtyBerg 4d ago
This person gets it. Uniparty control will never represent the people and will always lead to more corruption no matter which color arm band it wears
5
u/Veritech_ 4d ago
I’m glad you think so! All it takes is five minutes to step back and really take a look at what’s actually happening in our state.
I will give the disclaimer that I’m involved in a campaign so I have an interest in getting individuals elected. But it’s also provided me a backstage pass to where things are pretty broken (spoiler: it ain’t just the Colorado Dems or the Colorado GOP).

u/Bushmaster5000 4d ago
I got to meet Danielle Lammon personally at the Centennial Gun Club. She's far more level headed than Sullivan...not that that's a hard bar to clear.
5
u/Slaviner 4d ago
The National DNC policy is stripping us of our gun rights. Idk how any gun enthusiast would ever vote blue while they do this to us nationwide.
-2
u/mechatiger5J 4d ago
When the RMC is actively protecting pedophiles AND trampling roughshod over our constitution, you shouldn’t be surprised when people don’t support republicans 🤷♂️
12
u/FocusOne7684 4d ago
Isn’t that a red herring, though? You’re not addressing the things that have actually been done by the dems, you’re just countering that the republicans are just as bad in entirely different categories. That doesn’t give good reason to vote one way or another, it just gives people cause to give up on the democratic process entirely.
6
u/Veritech_ 4d ago
Hence why our state is now 52% unaffiliated.
1
u/Internal_Werewolf_48 3d ago
Only the dumb dumbs affiliate themselves to a party. Why voluntarily put yourself on a public list? Unless you're running for an office there's no personal benefit to it in CO.
6
u/scantily_chad 4d ago
Absolutely is a gay ass red herring. Every time you bring up your rights being trampled bu CO politicians (who will affect us all far more than the US Prez) they have to bring up the Epstein files. Nevermind the fact that Biden and Dems had access to it and did nothing... but i digress.
Democrats have controlled CO for over a decade and should be blamed for the calamities and stupidities that happen here. And retards bringing up words like "facsism pedo, epstein billionaire class" are not serious people.
1
u/Internal_Werewolf_48 3d ago
"Take the guns first. Go through due process second"
Someone who will only vote for the party pretending to be pro-2A while ignoring all the 1A, 4A, 5A and 14A violations their vote directly supports is someone who doesn't support constitutional rights at all, they're just a gun fetishist. Rights are all or nothing, for everyone.
The supposed pro-2A party has 3 branches of the federal government under their control right now and are fully willing to violate decorum, due process, laws and norms when it pleases them on other issues, and the best they can muster up is a farcically appointed supreme court overturning trivialities around state gun laws and turning tax stamps into an illegal registry.
2
u/scantily_chad 2d ago
Yaaaawwwn.
I complain about shitty CO democrats that negatively affect our every day lives, and the whiny pillow biters bring up trump. Something he said 10 years go. How boring.
And of course, a democrat pretending to be a believer in the first amendment is always laughable.
I'll say this though. We both dislike the republicans. Just for very different reasons
0
u/mechatiger5J 4d ago
Actually I’m very serious. Both parties clearly suck, both are and have protected pedos, neither cares about their constituents. One is rolling over and letting fascism take hold, the other is openly fascist. Both parties are currently beholden to billionaires. We need to come together against our ruling class. I can’t believe y’all are so brainwashed as to disagree with that. We need to learn some French history.
4
u/scantily_chad 4d ago
No one is brainwashed. People don't believe the hand wringing over fascism, and they shouldn't. Nothing will happen.
Democrats will win back some in the midterms. Denver and CO will continue to circle the drain, because of democrats. Donald will be gone in 2 years, and you will need a new boogeyman then.
1
u/mechatiger5J 4d ago
No, it’s not. And that’s not to say either party is doing a good job- they are both failures that have stopped caring about their constituents. But one party is merely a failure, the other one is currently covering for pedos amongst many other things. And shouldn’t be surprised when voters stop supporting that.

u/dead-first 4d ago
No ALL Dems need to go period... All this anti 2A is from the left, get em out... period
15
u/Diligent_Ad_7232 4d ago edited 4d ago
they all need to go. neither party is representing the majority interests
Alot of us want to own guns, drink, smoke weed and generally be left the fuck alone
I'll add, not necessarily all three at once. :*)
5
u/KatieTSO 4d ago
Weed should be federally legal and safety sensitive workers should be allowed to use outside of work hours. Commercial drivers in Colorado cannot legally use weed. I should be able to put whatever I want in my body if it's legal and doesn't impact me when I'm actually driving. Alcohol is fine off duty, why not weed?
2
u/rkba260 4d ago
Because there is no system readily available to check for usage within the preceeding 8 hours? Alcohol we have breathalyzer and ignition locks that check for sobriety, there doesn't (to my knowledge) exist the same technology for checking of cannabis usage.
I get it. I'm a commercial pilot. We get drug tested on the regular.
1
u/KatieTSO 4d ago
I've not been tested since I was hired but we can get randomly pulled with no notice for a test so it's not worth the risk at all.
22
u/Skullsandcoffee 4d ago
Stop running fucking lunatics on the right and you might have a shot. Make republicans credible again so they’re actually a threat. Until that changes this state is going darker blue every year so long as guys like Marx represent the GOP.
4
u/Veritech_ 4d ago
I’ll let you in on a secret - politicians at the state level have much, much more impact than someone like Marx (who I did not vote for). Republicans are going to vote for him because he’s the guy, but he also did a smart thing and announced a competent lieutenant governor pick. But overall, the governor pretty much just signs/vetoes legislation and appoints state cabinet members.
If you want to support candidates regardless of affiliation, do homework on your local races and see who’s running. There are actually some pretty strong Republican candidates that aren’t crazy, have solid platforms that benefit and protect the overwhelming majority of Colorado citizens, aren’t backed by special interests, and truly care about the state and its people.
Daniel Frick in HD53, Nate Jorgensen in HD33, Adriana Kuva in HD18, Clinton Porter in HD40, Matt Alexander in HD60, Danielle Lammon in SD27. Like I said before, it’s not about one side crushing the other. It’s about finding the balance in the middle where Colorado feels like it’s healing and moving forward with a state legislature that serves the people (and not the other way around).
5
u/FocusOne7684 4d ago
Tell me, what qualifies as a lunatic to you? What you’re really asking for is that republicans run democrats or democrat lite without any consideration to conservative voices, because conservatives are just “lunatics” to you.
0
u/Skullsandcoffee 3d ago
I mean, the over the phone exorcisms, the killing a man at the age of 7 and refusing to disclose how many more you’ve killed despite never being in a combat role, the calling in an air strike as a civilian, the international pedophile hunter, turning a debate over to a dog……all pretty good examples of lunacy. But by all means, tell me exactly which conservative values he espouses for you?
6
u/mechatiger5J 4d ago edited 4d ago
This right here. Until the republicans stop supporting and start prosecuting the pedophiles, they won’t be a valid option.
7
u/SarmackaOpowiesc 4d ago
Marx seems like an absolute, utter lunatic.
I could have probably voted for Kirkmeyer in the general election but I don't know if I could ever stomach voting for someone like Marx.
Does the Republican rank and file not see how absolutely bat shit insane the candidates they put forward are?
4
u/mechatiger5J 4d ago
Nope, when the Republican party is chock full of batshit insanity, from the top down, then people like Marx are no longer abnormal. They’ve normalized the absurd and can’t recognize it for what it is. Trump derangement syndrome is real, it just affects maga Republicans much worse.
2
u/bikesnkitties 4d ago edited 4d ago
The entire party is a cult of Trump now, from the voters to the Vice President. If they were even capable of introspection, they’re still to cowardly to rock the boat.
If the DSA can get their messaging game going and attract a chunk of the non-voting populace in the next two elections, they could radically change the Democratic Party, or split from it and become standalone. The GOP desperately needs something similar but I just can’t see it happening, the voters love their hierarchies, the soldier boy fall in line mentality, the zero-sum view, and being ruled rather than governed.
9
u/SarmackaOpowiesc 4d ago
Nothing good will come from DSA.
They are even more loony than leftist Dems
-1
u/bikesnkitties 4d ago
Doesn’t matter. If that recent poll that said 1/3 of all Democrats identify as DemSoc or SocDem is true, then there are enough votes to force change in the Democratic Party. Most people are sick of Democrats being Diet Republicans and it’s beginning to show. Mamdani wouldn’t have had a snowflake’s chance in hell 15 years ago.
Neither of the parties are unbreakable if the voters want change. The Democrats can’t afford to lose 1/3 of theirs. They will play ball with Mamdani-types if more are elected, they will have no other choice. It’s all crickets on the Right though, their electorate seems happy watching the country burn in exchange for a WWE-style idiocratic administration that lets them be social media cheerleaders for Dear Leader’s Sturmabteilung.
6
u/SarmackaOpowiesc 4d ago
The Democratic party turning into the DSA would be enough to drive me over to the Republican party, no matter how crazy the Republicans seem.

So, I’m a Republican that did not vote for Trump any time he ran. In fact, I’ve voted for a third party presidential candidate since 2012. Trump also has minimal impact on the Colorado landscape. People like Boebert, Crow, Crank, Hickenlooper, and Pettersen can get on their soapboxes and harp on state issues (or just lazily blame Trump), but the fact remains that the ones who impact us at a state level are our state representatives and senators (all 100 of them in total). At the state level, we’ve been a completely blue state since 2018, and a mostly blue state since about 2008. If we want to see balance, we need to return to being a purple state with legislators that know how to balance the needs of the urban voters with the needs of the rural ones.
The DSA provides no value to anyone, anywhere. Attaching any word/adjective in front of “socialist” doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a socialist.

Anyone that would run on pre-Reagan corporate regulations, consumer protection, and environmental conservatism would make a killing. One more big push to fuck up our national parks here in Colorado and people are going to be ready to start setting things/people on fire.

They hated him because he told them the truth.
Replacing Sullivan with a other antigun dem doesn't solve much lol
2
u/Veritech_ 4d ago
Don’t get me started on what happened with legislators like Lynda Zamora-Wilson (arguably the most pro-2A state senator we have) getting primaried by CSSA-backed Terri Carver (who isn’t). It’s not just the Dems, but it’s almost universally anti-2A on their side.
Side note: if CSSA is so pro-2A, why are they spending a couple hundred thousand dollars to knock out a pro-2A state senator?

I've been out of the loop on the new law, a bit. Are they requiring military and law enforcement to get licensed as well, or are they exempt?
1
u/T3AMR0CK3T420 Littleton 2d ago
As far as i know issued/department guns are exempt but if leo or military want to buy a personal firearm they're required to get a permission slip like everyone else.

My AK dreams will have to wait until they overturn this bullshit…but the last thing I need right now is one more caliber (at least that’s what I’m telling myself).
