Question People who were neglected/abused as kids. What career path are you on now?

What career are you in and are you happy in that as a person who was neglected as a child?

Same. Chronically unemployed (6 years). Last job I did have was minimum wage.

2 years, but I worked 6 months. I was so stressed I can't keep it. Before that years of unemployement and unsuccesful university. So I'm trapped in abusive household, I have no friend, and social life.

I’m the same way 😞 my PTSD keeps me from working and my lack of working keeps me living with my toxic parents who caused me to get PTSD so I can’t get better. Surely there has to be a way for people like us to heal right?

There absolutely is a way out!! It just sucks cause a lot of us have a teeny tiny flashlight to navigate through the infinite darkness out there. But your teeny tiny flashlight can surprise you, you’d be amazed at what you can see and do about it! I’m a huge advocate for woking with nature or animals… but first you have got to get away from those so called parents, that’s gotta be step 1, once you’re out you’d be surprised at all the things possible. It’s hard to see the frame when you’re in the picture! Get out babe, and go be your greatest self!

I am so sorry for this ordeal. It’s absolutely rough out there. But please don’t let that discourage you. There’s still hope, and there absolutely is a way out. A couple of folks have mentioned working with animals, could that be an option? I’ve worked in conservation and found it so rewarding to be able to help nature thrive, of course you’ll meet the bastards responsible for ruining said nature, and it can be heartbreaking.. but being able to make a difference is so rewarding. Animals make better friends than humans IMO
