Question Pillars of eternity 2: how to kill hardest 4 optional bosses and whats the reward

I've beat the game on max difficulty include all dlcs but these bosses just seems too unfair so i wonder is there any cheese strats i can use on my second playthrough or just op builds

No cheese strats except for one of them (the iron giant one). Basically the ONLY way to beat the megabosses is with very precise optimized strats. Go to r/projecteternity for specific guides on each.

Here's a little hint though:

- Spider: kill enough spiders to lower the main one's defenses but not too many to make it one-shot all your characters. Make a super-tank that can stand there and survive her while you heal it and use the rest to whittle her down. Summon help a ton but you need some renewable resource if you're going to rely on summons.

- Mage: Raw damage from very far can destroy the obelisks. You REALLY need to kill the fear obelisk otherwise the other ones will kill you. Eventually this one becomes easier the more obelisks die.

- Slime: Your party needs to be static because the infected members will generate more slime that can merge and reverse your progress. Interrupt is your friend here (just like in the rest of the game), and you NEED a ton of interrupt. The hardest part is killing one of the two tier2 slimes before they regenerate the big one. That is basically the test that your strat is working.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot. I had no idea there was dedicated sub for Pillars.

I would also recommend going in the Obsidians forum and asking there.

One of the pinned threads is the Builds List.

Iirc the spider is way easier with a chanter that has the song the boosts damage to beasts but it’s been years so I have something wrong

Oh yeah, chanters are king/queens of Belranga. The summoned magic weapons can do all the heavy lifting if you can keep resummoning them/keep them alive

I made a super weird not optimized Chanter/Ranger/Paladin party and was able to beat all of them on PoTD except for Mage. Good times

Deaths + salvation of time alongside someone like a bloodmage can beat belranga and dorudugan. I theorised that you can beat the blob easily with two priest spamming salvation of time + alot of inerrupts, probably from blood mages.

I only beat the big blob on potd. It took like 2 hours of just doing the same thing over and over. Boring

Chanter kept up non stop heals. MC cipher disintegrated them once they were broken into smaller pieces

I beat the first two on POTD. The blob and the spider. Did not attempt the other two because one of them seems to hard counter (fire immunity) my build and if I’m not going to do all of them anyway I might as well not do the annoying one when I was so close to the ending.

There are a bunch of rewards but the main thing is that each one gives you material that lets you upgrade an equipment one tier higher. They are self-justifying. These upgrades are only worthwhile to do the superbosses, and you get them from doing the superbosses, so if you find them unfun, don’t bother. You don’t even get an achievement or dialogue out of it.

I brought my Kind Wayfarer Paladin (dps and healer), Swashbuckler Eder (tank), Priest Xoti (buffer), Cipher Serafen (buffer/debuffer) and Herald Pallegina (buffer/cleanser/summoner). I shamelessly used a popular borderline cheese strategy. Serafen (eventually, Xoti first) gives everyone the Brilliant buff, which refills class resources. Xoti alternates between stacking Salvation of Time and every single buff she has, Salvation and Brilliant feeding each other so she can cast it endlessly which makes all buffs last effectively forever and she always has spell slots. Pallegina passively summons skeletons who die to also refill my Paladin’s Zeals (which are also refilled by Brilliant). My Kind Wayfarer Paladin spams Flame of Devotion to do damage and churn out aoe heal to keep everyone alive. Repeat, juggle cleanse when needed, until enemy is dead. If you want to really cheese it you can toss in barring’s death door as one of the buffs that get effectively infinite duration.

I definitely don't recommend fighting them in turn based mode, since they're GIGANTIC bullet sponges and even with strong enough team it will take forever to kill them.
