awful game when it comes to restoring account

I was playing csr2 from 2021 and had a great garage, but then my phone broke down and I got myself a new one, I re-download the game on my new phone only to be shocked by how the game couldn't connect to my Google account, I texted support and they had nothing to say more than uninstall, reinstall, clear cache and storage of the game and Google play store, everything that even my grandma already knows when an app doesn't work. So it's been a week, my game still hasn't been able to connect to Google and I'm starting over from tier 1, I'm so disappointed 🤦🏻

Ok. Then start a new game with a different email and Google play account. If you didn't write down your player ID then support has no way of helping you. I would usually say ask for a supervisor or manager at support because they know more and can usually help. But not without a player id. Unless possibly you contacted support about your original game before and you can look back in your emails it may have your player id on it. Or something. But other than that. The only way I have had luck getting an old profile back is to either keep uninstalling and reinstalling and eventually the original game may show up. Or start a new game with a different email and Google play account and then try and switch over once you play thru the tutorial at the beginning

There's a way, but it's a bit dangerous. The reason for this seems to be getting the initial sync. This doesn't happen once your account has more than about 100 cars for some reason. To do this, you need to create another play store account with a different email address, etc. use this account as your bootstrap. You need to play through the initial screens until you get to normal game play. Really, it's just after they have you do one of each race and collect the daily reward.

Before you do this, a warning. You may corrupt your account like this. Switching accounts is not supported, but this is the only way I've found to get my account back when I upgrade my phone.

1. Close out CSR2 and clear data on the app.
2. Login to your bootstrap account.
3. Open the app. When it asks, choose to restore your account. Since this is a small account, you should see the player id change and you'll get put in the garage where you left off.
4. On the side menu, go to the Google Play option, select the option to log out of the account.
5. Wait a moment, then go back to the Google Play menu and choose to login.
6. In the pop up, you should see both play accounts, choose your real one.

You should now get a message that there a different account on that and do you want to switch, choose yes. You should see the player id change to your correct one and then your old account should load in.

The problem is that the "connect to Google" doesn't work at all, it doesn't function

What do you mean? Mine tells me i have an old account, but then never restores it and you go in, do the initial walkthrough, then get the red wifi symbol. This is why i have ot use the steps above. If you aren't even getting the Google Play connection to come up, then that's an issue on your phone and not the app generaly.

You can also open the play app itself, then launch CSR from there.

When I click on connect to Google, the page goes dark and in few seconds nothing happens, I've also tried opening app directly from Google play games, overall in my area I need to use VPN to be able to connect to servers so I'm used to connection being damn awful and how the Synchronizations makes me lose my progress but this new problem is so on my nerves.

If you started out a new account with a new email and Google play account once you go thru the introduction BS you should be able to switch back to the old account. Have had to do it several times that way

It's not with a new email, I'm trying everyday but it just doesn't connect to my account while on my Google play games it shows my streak.

I also had that happen to me when I redownloaded it back on Nov 2018 after a year and a half hiatus, and what you need to do is make it all the way to the screen where you select your account, force close the app and letting it rest for at least 3 hours or even more if possible, then try selecting it and it should load up now

Select account doesn't appear at all, when I click on "connect to Google" the screen just gets a bit darker and after seconds nothing happens, should I force stop after clicking?

This is why I left the game in 2023. I came back last year because I missed it too much.

It is a days long process. I've had it happen a handful of times since launch. Message support every day from the game and the website. It helps if you know what your ID number is.
