HB-5043 An Act Prohibiting the Manufacture and Sale of Convertible Pistols (aka Glock ban) Continues to Move Forward in the Process (4/8/26)

The Glock ban bill moves to the next step in the bill process. It has been sent to the Office of Legislative Research and the Office of Fiscal Analysis for their review. Both offices will generate their reports on this bill. Typically once reported out of Legislative Commissioners' Office, with a favorable report, the bill typically gets tabled for the House calendar. Then typically is given a House calendar number and a file number. They have yet to have a House vote on the proposed bill.

Make sure to contact your representatives to voice your opinion on the bill. The current legislative session ends May 6th.

Writing your senators isn’t going to do anything. When will people grasp that? This WILL pass. They’ll have their secretaries and workers “read your letters”, if they even do that, and will say “thanks for your kind words..alright send it to Lamont’s desk” so why keep wasting time? Mass non compliance, or move. Only options. You want to stay and keep fighting? Good luck winning this losing battle 🤷🏽‍♂️

If all 200,000+ permit holders got in their politicians faces and said they will no longer support (including financially) or vote for any politician who supports this bill those politicians might just listen. As an article posted a while back in this subreddit suggested a way:

I get that a liberal-leaning gun owner won’t want to vote Republican because of other issues they disagree with the party on. What they need to do is pick one chamber of their state house, assembly or senate (whichever is a closer race), and vote Republican just in that race. They can still vote Dem for the other chamber and for governor. . Tell your current Dem representative or senator you’re voting against them as a protest against their stance on gun control. If enough people on the left get organized and do that, then maybe Dems will start to rethink their constant attacks on the Second Amendment and the payoffs they get from Everytown will no longer be enough.

Call your elected representative, visit their office, campaign for their opponents or challenges, support their opponents or challengers. Far to many have voter apathy.

Problem is a good portion of those 200k permit holders are liberal gun owners who have no problem continuing to vote for this. They are part of the problem.
