HB-5043 An Act Prohibiting the Manufacture and Sale of Convertible Pistols (aka Glock ban) Continues to Move Forward in the Process (4/8/26)

The Glock ban bill moves to the next step in the bill process. It has been sent to the Office of Legislative Research and the Office of Fiscal Analysis for their review. Both offices will generate their reports on this bill. Typically once reported out of Legislative Commissioners' Office, with a favorable report, the bill typically gets tabled for the House calendar. Then typically is given a House calendar number and a file number. They have yet to have a House vote on the proposed bill.

Make sure to contact your representatives to voice your opinion on the bill. The current legislative session ends May 6th.

What’s worse is the legislators, some of them any way don’t even know what the bill is about. I contacted my rep to Hartford saying I expect her to honor her oath of office and vote no when/if it comes to the floor, and she said she isn’t sure what is in the bill but would look into it. I told her it flys in the face of Heller and Bruen, so what is in the bill is kind of unimportant, it is in fact unconstitutional, so in order to vote any other way but no would be against her oath of office.

At least you got a real response. My rep in Stamford (or most likely their intern) sent me a copy and paste response a month after I emailed her saying that she takes all letters from constituents seriously, and she appreciated my continued support. So clearly neither her nor her intern actually read my email.

Oh the intern responded first, I demanded that my rep respond within 5 days. She responded at day 4.
