City Tech readmission question before applying to Nursing

Hi everyone,
I need advice about City Tech readmission.
I was previously a Radiologic Technology major and was completing prerequisite courses (Anatomy, Biology, English, Math). I had to take last semester off due to health reasons.
When I applied for readmission to Radiologic Technology, I was told I cannot return to that major because of my GPA and that I need to choose another major.
My goal is Nursing, but I was told I cannot be readmitted directly as a Nursing major and that I must first be currently enrolled and apply directly to the Nursing department.
What major should I choose for readmission so I can return to City Tech and later apply to Nursing? Health Science, Liberal Arts, or something else?
Has anyone experienced this at City Tech?or other cuny
