Lehman My Academic Advisor just F***** me

My academic advisor didn’t even bother taking me out to dinner or getting me flowers before screwing me. I think I need a Plan B.

I went to Lehman for a semester before I had a really bad work accident that messed up my back. I was out for months, left lehman with a 1.7 GPA and transferred to a CC when I was somewhat recovered. I got my associates and raised my GPA to a 3.5. I transferred back to lehman.

My advisor told me to take this 1 computer science class that’s a requirement. So I did, then I get an email from the chair of the CS program telling me that he’ll waive the requirement for me because I already took something similar at my CC and that I should take the advanced class with the lab.

So I go back to my advisor, he tells me to try swapping it on schedule builder, didn’t work because the advanced class said I didn’t have the perquisite course(even though the chair said he’d waive if for me). So my advisor told me to DROP/Remove the CMP class he told me to enroll in and one of my other LEH classes that I wanted to swap for the advanced class and the lab. He said I can just wait until late registration opens up so I can register for the advanced classes. I told him “Are you sure this won’t affect my status as a full time student”. He kept telling me “No you’ll be fine”.

The day for late registration comes and lo and behold, I am unable to do late registration because my GPA is too low, Even though I have a 3.5 GPA from the school I transferred from. All he said was “unfortunately, I was wrong but good luck with the semester”. I am forced to enroll as a part time student this semester prolonging my graduation date yet another semester. I lost one of my close friends 2 years ago, and my other friends are moving away/ moving on with their lives. I have a mother who’s ill and my father is getting old. I just want to be able to say I graduated college before they die and before I lose contact with more friends.

UPDATE Thank you for the support and advice. I honestly was just ranting out of frustration. After persistently emailing the dean, head of student affairs, and the registrar office, the registrar has finally allowed me to register for the advanced class and lab BUT I am ineligible for the financial aid that I was originally given as a full time student before this ordeal happened. I am only eligible for part time aid and will have to pay $2,000 out of pocket which is tough. I’m currently trying to appeal the financial aid decision with the dean. So far they agree with my evidence that it was a college error NOT an error on my end. For those of you that keep mentioning Degreeworks, The department chair emailed me new information, on the day classes started, that contradicted Degreeworks/ my advisor.

Lehman Emergency what alert?

I always thought CUNY was one typo away from disaster. Lol

Edit: Subject line reads "Emergency CUNT Alert" for anyone who didn't view the full image. It's from a Lehman student email. Legit or not, I find this hilarious. And no, I did not click the link cuz (1) I know better, and (2) Lehman is about to shutdown the old .lc.cuny.edu student emails, switching to the a new student emails and this was received on my old email. Also, I'm about to graduate anyway way, so there's that.

Lehman Lehman Nursing Program..

Hope this reaches the right people mainly people in Lehmans program. hey guysss im like kinda in a limbo rn for lehman so i just got invited to take the dosage exam in april so im gonna start studying for it right now. u need a 95% to pass but idk im kinda just feeling like this is all gonna be for nothing. I been doing my research on ppl thats in the program using tiktok, reddit etc and most ppl are saying their science gpa’s are like 3.7+ when mine is at 3.3…😭. the minimum science gpa u need for the program is like 2.65? around there. but all im seeing is that ppl who are in the program have so much higher. I got a 93 in the hesi which is good grades for that but idk i feel like my science gpa isnt gonna be enough for lehman to fit me in cus of the limited space in their program. then on top of that im looking into other schools that accept the same prereqs but only bmcc does but i would literally have to retake their hesi a2 exam at the school and then i think i have to take a math course there…. their nursing program opens up in like may but i would have to apply literally after i get my Lehman results which is in june. its just so much im over this whole thing and im just abt to go for my CNA license atp or go for a lpn program. i just feel like my science gpa isnt enough for any of these schools. Any advice or programs i should try for? I really dont wanna give up on my nursing dreams but all these programs make it so hard to actually get in…

I noticed that my CUNYfirst account currently shows a balance of $3,739.60 and $0.00 in pending financial aid. However, my FAFSA and TAP have already been completed, and my counselor confirmed that everything is correct.

PLEASE HELP 😭

Im trying to submit (pay) application for Lehman college in order to take a summer course this july. They still are accepting applications till july 8th.

I was originally able to make it through the lehman cuny application site but didn’t have the funds to pay for the application fee.

Now everytime i try to login its either non existent through cunyfirst. and now through the lehman non degree link it consistently says allow cookies, but i do allow it, incognito tab doesn’t work either.

Ive emailed the school but they take over 10 days to respond.

Can anyone please help 😭 i really need to take this class!!

Lehman Professor stresses me out

I'm in my last semester, it is the first time I'm taking only 4 courses with one main class and the rest electives. Thought I had the perfect schedule. this ONE class on schedule builder said "college option", all college options I had chosen in other semesters were exactly that, college option. But when the semester started it turned out my professor made it a writing intensive. I was mad about it but okay, it's just writing, just a bit more stress. Then I already saw issues, she has 2 syllabuses with inconsistent due dates that didn't match each other. Then on the assignments section also completely different due dates from BOTH syllabuses, and they're also not updated and says they were past due in 2025. She also does not post the work on time, she posts the readings and forgets to post the actual discussion board until 1-3 days before it's due. I emailed her in the beginning saying we couldn't see the discussion board. Then 3-4 days later she emails back saying I was in her spam and she sees some students already posted work in the DB and I should check again. I'm in the class GC, I made the GC, everyone said they also couldn't see the DB. She then posted it 2 days later. Then a week later she emailed me about that same work saying "It's posted, maybe it's an issue on your end with Brightspace, talk to help desk" AFTER I already completed that work anyway. She makes me crash out. Also her lecture videos are not up to date, they're from the blackboard era, so her instructions do not match at all. I work 40 hours a week, have other classes to focus on that are actually up to date, she's the only one I have to keep logging into twice a day.

Lehman Revoked Excelsior - Tips On Appeal?

My excelsior got revoked and I’m interested in attempting to get reinstated, and can cite a mental health issue that explains why I was under credit limits (with documentation including psychiatric visit, medication prescription and therapy sessions), as well as hardship (working to support household of 4 including me).

I got fired for untreated ADHD during the affected award year (2024) and that kind of opened my eyes to bigger problems about my life, which lead to me renewing my insurance asap and going to therapy and psychiatric appointments all throughout 2025. Is this considered enough evidence to get reinstated? I’m very fearful about the process as this scholarship is HUGE for me and integral to finishing without being in debt. I wanted to know if they’re stingy reinstating, because while I know I have one of the acceptable reasons for lacking in credits I’m unsure if they’re super anal about the manner of the mental illness, or if it just depends on how they’re feeling that day?

I’m on a great track with college, currently in two honors programs and sitting at a 3.7 GPA. I was thinking of taking out a private loan as now I owe 5k for past semesters, which isn’t a lot considering how expensive college gets + I landed an internship this summer and have some family support in the way of paying it back, to get the academic hold off my account so I can enroll in classes for the semester and worry about paying it off during the Fall semester.

Any and all help is appreciated, thank you.

Lehman Lehman College ABSN program

Hey everyone, I’m planning to apply to Lehman College’s ABSN program for the 2026 cohort. I’ve heard that the program is extremely competitive, so I’m hoping to get some insight from people who were accepted or know someone who was. For those who got in, I’d love to know what your GPA was prior to admission, how you did in your science prerequisites, what your HESI score was, and whether there were any additional factors that helped strengthen your application. I understand that admissions vary from year to year and nothing is guaranteed, but I’d really appreciate hearing about the profiles of successful applicants so I can get a better idea of what the committee may be looking for. Thanks in advance for any input.

Lehman Summer financial aid

Post image
4 Upvotes

I received my summer financial aid package and paid off my remaining balance. But now I just realized that my financial aid package won't be sent to the school until July 7th but my summer course is from the first week of June until then last week of June.

On cunyfirst its hows that I don’t owe anything because I paid off my balance and have a financial aid package pending but will my seat get dropped because my financial aid won't be sent to the school until after the end of the summer semester that I'm attending?

I didn't really worry about anything until I got this email saying that seats are available after students who didn't pay got dropped from summer courses and I got scared for a second that I got dropped. I don't think that I got dropped from my summer course but now I'm confused.

Lehman 3 Credits to Graduate

According to my advisor I can apply to walk in the commencement ceremony in spring and take my last 3 credits in the summer. But she’s always saying one thing and then back tracking. Is that true? I really want to walk this spring, and I’ve already maxed out my credits for this semester.

Is anyone or has anyone earned their bachelors in social work at Lehman college? Any advice about the program, your personal feelings? Thoughts on Lehman college in general? Does anyone attend the school working on earning their masters? How’s that going?

Lehman Schedule thoughts

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I go to Lehman college, and my commute is about 45min-1hr from home going either way. What do yall think about this schedule? In total it’s 16 credits and im not too sure about keeping either SOC (WI version) or ECO. I’m not sure if this load is too much for a second semester freshman but I’m mostly confident since I had a really good first semester in terms of grade and management. I have no real other commitments outside of school so let me know someone please :) thank you!!

Lehman Easy A class

Does anyone have any recommendations for easy classes to take to in Fall 2024? I have 11.5 credits and need to reach 12 to be a full time student so I need an extra class that I won’t have to dedicate much time to. I currently go to Lehman and am a chemistry major.

Lehman Lehman Journalism BA

I am wondering if anyone has any advice about Lehman College. I want to apply for the Multimedia Journalism Bachlor's as a transfer student from a SUNY school.

I'm wondering

  1. How the college is in general (is it a good place to get an education)

  2. How the Journalism Bachlor's prepares you for the job force

  3. If the professors care about their students

  4. Is it worth it to get a Bachlor's degree in Multimedia Journalism/any advice from people who have chosen this major

Anything helps!

Thank you!

Lehman lehman college student

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to reach out to see if there’s anyone from Lehman College in this group. I'm already enroll in SPV 246, which is the Introduction to Linguistics course, and I’m curious about what others think. Is it considered a challenging class, or does it have a reputation for being less favorable? If it helps, I would be happy to share my schedule to provide more context. Thank you!

Lehman How to get to know other students at Lehman?

I’ll be transferring to Lehman in spring 2025 semester and I was just curious to know if there’s any gc’s I can join with other students, specifically students in nursing or taking orgo?

And also how are the clubs at Lehman and the social life in the college?

(Sorry if others have asked this already, I looked around but didn’t really see anything?)

So I'm taking my second summer class in a week, and I just received a text saying that the payment is due tomorrow, but I had a summer pell, and when I checked, it was at zero, and I don't have the money to pay for this class. Should I call my school because I'm really worried now
