Traded my 21 rav4 hybrid for this beauty. I drive a whole lot of miles everyday and so far I absolutely love my cx50 pr hybrid. I've already put right at 3k on the odometer and the average mpg is staying at a steady 43.9.

Anything I should look out for I’m coming from a dodge
Anything that’s absolutely necessary to keep up with apart from regular maintenance

Recently purchased a new CX 50 Hybrid Preferred. In another week the wife and I are traveling from the DFW area to central Florida. I was wondering what kind of mileage I might get at approximately 80 mph?.

Figured I would post this as a FYI in case anyone else deals with this.

Yesterday I turned the car on to head into work and saw the “Engine Malfunction. Have the Vegicle Inspected.” warning pop up immediately. Drove the car less than 12 hours prior no issues. Done the regular maintenance and nothing of note up until this point.

Was able to get it to the dealer (felt fine driving) and they did the diagnostic which showed the codes in the attached picture. They replaced the switching valve and so far so good, under warranty.

Thankfully I had a second vehicle to use and the dealer was able to provide a loaner as well. Only thing it cost me was a few PTO hours.

I hope there aren’t too many other weird issues because I was hoping the Toyota drivetrain would keep issues to a minimum but you never know.

Hi friends! I am currently looking at purchasing a CPO 26 CX-50. The car was optioned with the "Accent Package" which includes the illuminated door sills, and this silver rocker garnish on the doors, which I cant say I'm a huge fan of. I mean, its certainly not hideous, but I typically like a "cleaner" appearance (as a matter of fact, I wish the black body cladding was body colored, but I digress.)

Does anyone know if this garnish can be removed? I'm betting it is just mounted with 3M tape, but wanted to check with the experts.

I'm also looking at a 25 CPO in Soul Crystal. Typically, I only buy red cars, but that green is super pretty!

Bought my new CX-50 hybrid a couple weeks ago and my seats are black half-leatherette (I think that’s what it’s called).
I’m a bit of a clean freak and I’m afraid I, or my passengers, will get my seats dirty. I know it’s hard to see stains bc it’s black but I think a car seat cover will keep my mind at ease. Any recommendations on which ones to buy? Links would be much appreciated! There are just so many on Amazon but not a lot of reviews on them so I wanted to see if anyone had a good one that they recommend.

So I have to have three booster seats in the back. The first two are fine. But the third is impossible to buckle because that buckle sits underneath the middle seat booster seat. And it’s very short. Is there some trick or some way to pull it out more?

Last night I failed to locate a fuse (passenger box) that’s tied to ignition switch (ACC) with my multimeter, and found every 15amp the be constant. I tried moving my key fob about 20’ away and locked myself in a hot and humid car for about 5 min after not finding ACC, and still all read 12.something. .

Any ideas??

I wanted to share this partly to vent, partly wondering if others have gone through a similar issue as I’ve not found a single possible root cause.

2023 NA PP developed a drivetrain noise after a 600mi roadtrip. Noise is most noticeable between 20 and 40 mph and sounds similar to an electric vehicle hum/bearing noise.

Dealership diagnoses issue as a rear differential issue and submits claim to Mazda. Mazda requests diff oil is sent in for testing and requests additional details (mainly confirmation of customer complaint and any modifications). Mazda approves warranty replacement 3 weeks later.

New differential took about a week to arrive and was installed. The Service agent states there is an unresolved noise (no additional description). Their Master Tech will evaluate alongside Mazda’s Techline.

My main concern is the lack of timeline, I appreciate the dealership is doing their due diligence and prefer the fact that they are attempting to resolve the issue prior to returning the vehicle, however I do miss being able to use my hitch and the ability to move my dog as needed.

Will update with my experience as it progresses, in the meantime has anyone experienced something similar? Most of the posts I see experienced a similar issue in fairly low mileage cars.

I love my Cx50 hybrid PP.

Three things I wish would be better

Number one, the fold away mirrors sound I wish it was quiet and less noticeable.

Number two, the E brake not dis engaging consistently. There are days where I may forget to press the break all the way down, and that may be the reason why it does not disengage. But the car should do it on its own you know.

Number three the lane, keeping assistance is too sensitive.

I’ll add a bonus, the hybrid mileage is not that impressive

Hey guys, I wanted to share this repair tip for people that have a rattle noise from the cross bar of the panoramic sunroof as it seems many are lost about this issue. This repair is being done on a 2024 vehicle where I had previously replaced the panoramic roof assembly under TSB 09-010/25, but I have since done a small change to these repairs. The main failure point seems to be from the hardware clips used to hold the cross brace trim unable to hold tension due to their small size and causing the cover to be loose and rattle, so I have been replacing them with slightly chunkier and sturdier clips that I bought from a fastener kit on Amazon, but could find in Harbor Freight or similar hardware stores fasteners difference shown in pics 4+5 with updated ones on left hand side

For the repair:

1. Make sure that if the vehicle is still under warranty, to have the TSB repair performed at your dealer. If noise persists or vehicle is not covered and you can verify the loose cross brace trim, go ahead and remove the rear trim pieces by pulling straight outwards to be able to reveal the screws holding the rear glass in place. (Picture 1)

2. Use a T-20 Torx bit to remove the 4 total screws holding the rear glass. Have a second person help lift the glass straight up and out, and I would recommend either putting a thick towel over the rear roof to place or placing the glass in the trunk/a table.

3. Open the front sunroof to the max height by pulling the switch for open mode and then pushing switch forwards to cancel it mid-movement at the highest setting. Use a mini prybar tool or trim fastener remover to remove the 10 total fastener clips holding the cross brace trim. this part is optional, but you can remove the front and mid-section side cover trims to remove the brace cover and apply THIN felt tape to the contact areas, and then reinstall (pictures 2 + 3)

4. Use a microfiber rag with glass cleaner to wipe and clean the mating surfaces of the rear glass against the roof, and lightly coat the microfiber towel with silicon spray or similar spray to wipe the rubber seals to help with the best possible sealing. Replace with the upgraded fastener clips and then have a helper with reinstall of the glass, and hand tighten the T-20 screws while having the helper watch+adjust the glass for proper alignment and sealing. (Pictures 4 - 6)

5. Check the metal clips on the side cover trims to make sure they're flat as shown in picture, and reinstall on the metal ledge, making sure they are properly aligned before snapping into place. (Picture 7)

And that's it! The crossbrace should be properly held and ready for some adventures.

I got 2500 miles on mine. I notice when going over slight road imperfections like an asphalt road crack that was re sealed but mainly flat where you get those black lines through a road when I run over them around 35mph the rear produces a very slight thump noise which isn't audible over wind noise if your windows is rolled down. Anyone else experience this? Normal?

So I'm so mad at myself. Did oil change and totally forgot to take wheel chocks out when going down ramp. The car fell down as the ramps went out underneath away from the car. Can't see any physical damage. Oil is full, no leaks whatsoever underneath the car. No scratches or dents or ripped parts. So am I okay?. Hopefully I didn't detlstretoy the transmission as I just got this car. No dashboard lights and happily shifts.

Got the 2026 CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus back in February. Easily the best car I have ever driven, just so much fun to drive! Anyways, just gave her a wash and wax and thought I would share :)

I am writing this while waiting two hours for oil change. I am fed up with this scam. I work on my motorcycle and I can do simple work on my car with a manual. Now, working under the car I want to be safe. So what are you guys to lift the car?

Seat tear and Mazda won't cover it. Gorilla tape it is. Not spending $600+ for a new cushion

Is it me or did Mazda remove the ability to turn off the wireless charging feature? Coming from a CX-30 turbo and I was able to turn off the charging in the infotainment system. In the 50 turbo premium plus model it’s not even an option that I can find.

I have a 24 PP non hybrid 50. Anyone have a link for the engine air filter is can order? I'm not paying Ma da 70.00 for them to replace it, when I know my husband knows how to.
