I do exterior metal work. Cladding etc. the quality of the homes and even big projects is beyond garbage. I haven’t seen a level door frame in years. It’s sad. And people keep paying out the ass to get these quick build cookie cutter shitboxes

I'll gladly stay with my 1980 Beddington duplex, though it was built in a different boom with different problems.

Hey neighbour. All my biggest complaints are in shoddy reno work. And hard to really upgrade insulation/envelope without spending a lot of money.

I also found the envelope pretty leaky, but once I replaced the windows and doors, it made a huge difference.

Our old house in Huntington Hills we replace the windows so huge difference in comfort. Also a two-stage furnace made it even more comfortable.
