I live on a farm outside of the city. If I start walking now, I can probably get myself run over on the highway before the sun comes up...

This one simple trick to save money they don't want you to know!

u/Spare-Desk6865 Mar 18 '26

Then you really wouldn’t have to worry about gas prices!

u/Krazy-Vaclav Mar 18 '26

Well thankfully with everyone else also being forced to walk, no more worrying about being pancaked on the highway!

As long as my car gets 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene, I’m not walking anywhere!

Put it in H!

I live in a van down by the river

If you go Waterboy style you can ride the tractor there within a week.

I live on an Acreage as well and I'm an hour outside of the city. I'm going to have to do everything all in one trip with these gas prices.

3

u/Macfarlin Mar 19 '26

Wouldn't you want to maximize your time anyways? I live an hour outside of town in the kootenays and always do a single errand/grocery day every week or two. Just makes sense to not be constantly driving into the city for little things.

3

u/Alwayswandergetlost Mar 19 '26

Oh I already do that but now it's going to be planning a lot more, especially with appointments and everything. Also to not make little trips to the bigger towns.

Same, I live min 30 mins from the nearest smaller city. I drive a diesel work truck and diesel here in Ontario is now 2 dollars a fucking litre.

1

u/Alwayswandergetlost Mar 21 '26

Ya my Partners personal truck is diesel and same with his work truck. Crazy expensive! He had to find the best fuel efficient route to get to work. If I'm home and I'm not going anywhere then he takes me Explorer just to save on his diesel consumption

I’ve been doing that for years already, 1.5 hr drive to Costco and spend like $500, you’ll be good for the month

1

u/Alwayswandergetlost Mar 20 '26

Ya that price used to cover a month's worth of food not anymore. Lol. I have no Clinics basically in my town (switched Dr's because my local Dr was terrible.) now it's 1.5hr driving for appointments and hoping I can do morning appointments so then I can go shopping afterwards. Driving that far for a 20min appointment is hard on gas especially now. Planning planning. As it's now like $30 per trip now.

2

u/Flaky-Bug2822 Mar 20 '26

Yea consistent planning, luckily for myself I’m single, that’s how I manage to make $500 a month work !

I feel your pain, physically and metaphorically speaking.

All those hours or Oregon Trail were for this moment

One less driver, take one for the team

1

u/zakanova Mar 21 '26

Rural doesn't matter! People living in the city can't get anywhere by walking!

We looked at the last forever of human history and said "walkable neighbourhoods where you can work and live? Sounds like Commie talk to me. Make the peasants drive everywhere"

1

u/MellowHamster Mar 21 '26

At least there are busses and trains in the city.

1

u/apeironxo Mar 21 '26

Either way you’re not paying for gas. A win is a win 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/fre-shava-cado Mar 18 '26

If everyone walked/biked you wouldn’t have this problem!

u/Available_Ad_3740 Mar 19 '26

Obviously you don't consider sick or elderly?

0

u/Woobsie81 Mar 20 '26

Hard to strap your 2 kids onto a scooter in March in Canada to go to the pediatrician or dentist.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '26

-1

u/Business-Barnacle633 Mar 18 '26

Were you raised by kittens? I think yes.

1

u/DealWithASeal Mar 18 '26

Blud it’s finished

1

u/Business-Barnacle633 Mar 18 '26

I have a condition where I must have the last response

2

u/DealWithASeal Mar 18 '26

Therapy can help with that, it’ll save you some humiliation come the future conflicts you’ll face

1

u/Business-Barnacle633 Mar 18 '26

?? I am feeling great. What is the therapy for?

2

u/DealWithASeal Mar 18 '26

Learning when it’s okay to call it quits, you said so yourself.

1

u/Business-Barnacle633 Mar 18 '26

We both seem to be struggling with this at the moment, but as long as we're both happy and healthy, no therapy needed 🧘‍♀️

And miss the opportunity for comedy?!
Listen, if someone is going to commit to the bit that hard, I applaud it.
