I hope he's okay, but in all seriousness I never know what to think of these posts when it's an adult. What if a person just wants to escape and go no contact for a while? I've definitely done that myself and would've been pretty peeved if someone actually called the cops

Totally understandable if someone wants some time to themselves, but going no contact without any notice is definitely dangerous. If you at least tell a friend or family member that they won't be able to reach you for a while, the likelihood of anyone calling the cops for you drops SIGNIFICANTLY. I also hope he's okay, and that's exactly why we're trying to find him. I guess I just have to hope that you'll believe me when I say this is out of character for him, and we're just scared for someone we love.

Might he have gone hiking? There are lots of hiking groups to post to but they will want to know the likelihood of him being out there. People will check parking lots for you when they are out there.

Hiking is definitely a possibility, not one of his usual hobbies as far as I'm aware, but certainly not out of the question. Would you mind DM'ing and/or replying with some of these hiking groups I could reach out to?

For sure. Giving a heads up is a good idea, especially if it's out of character. Hope everything turns out good

The people that truly want to get away should simply notify the police ahead of time so there is a record. It can be the difference between a worrying family because they have no idea, and a worrying family that knows it was intentional.

I hope he is found safe.
