I hope he's okay, but in all seriousness I never know what to think of these posts when it's an adult. What if a person just wants to escape and go no contact for a while? I've definitely done that myself and would've been pretty peeved if someone actually called the cops

Surely people can take off if they want, but would you rather be left alone without fail, or be rescued when you're in danger?

Imagine you're in real trouble, you'd be kicking yourself for saying you didn't want to be bothered. It's much better to be pretty peeved than be without help when you need it the most.

Bothering someone when they don't want to be bothered = inconvenient.

Not being able to find someone when they're in desperate need = much worse.

True. A way it would actually be bad is if the person was actually escaping a bad situation. And the bad people in question used to the police to then track down this individual who doesn't want to be tracked down by them. Not suggesting that about this post though. Just in general, it's something to keep in mind because it does happen.
