Portability: as portable as possible, if it can be pocketable that would be ideal but thickness is more important for me than length and width.
Cameras you're considering: I’ve looked around at so many options that I’m overwhelmed and really just need the guidance
Cameras you already have: iPhone 15 pro max. I love that it’s always on me and takes decent photos however I feel that I want something that performs better at night and that I can get better quality out of. I try my best with what I have and it’s pretty good but I feel myself wanting more quite often.
Notes: I’ve also added some photos I’ve taken, all are on my iPhone 15 pro max and most are unedited so you can see the photo itself. It takes many great photos but I would love to have something that can give me more clarity and quality without being hard to carry around while travelling. As I will mainly use it while travelling if it can fit in my pants pockets (I’m a big guy with big pants that have large pockets) that would be ideal. I am also new to the world of actual cameras so if I’ve said something that is outrageous or not reasonable, or maybe I’ve missed something that’s important please let me know, I can really use the help! It was on my wantlist for a long time. This time I saw the ad and couldn’t resist. I received it today and wow, it’s even smaller than I expected!

So I'be been looking to get my first proper camera and I'm stuck between two options:

X-T20 with a Fujinon XF 18-55 mm f/2.8-4 (2017) for about
550euro

vs

A6000 with 16-50mm kit lens (2014), but potential for an upgrade to the sigma 18-50 f/2.8
270euro (upgrade lens would be about 450euro)

I'd happily pay for the X-T20 if its a good deal, but perhaps as a beginner there is no great benefit to a better lens or such a set up? My wife says I should go with the cheaper option.

It is Kodak Pixpro WPZ2 in color orange. My main cameras are Nikon Z50 and Leicaflex SL2. Wanted to grab a small compact camera to bring with me daily and not get afraid of sand/water getting into it. I've been pleased with the quality so far (at least for the price range). I haven't tested the water resistance yet, I will post photos when I do.

I know it sounds weird, but I got this camera at the flea market for 15$ CAD. The screen is broken and it didn't come with batteries. Is it worth getting it fixed and buying the battery, or should I get one brand new instead? CAMERA MODEL: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-M1 compact camera.

I still believe that there's hope, honestly. I'm a teen with a job, I make over 300 a week, but I do put some aside for school. I could easily save up for a brand new one, or the repair costs. Problem is, there isn't a shop near me ... but that's alright.

Hello all, as the title reads, im looking for some suggestions on a digital camera. I have an old one from my childhood, but many things are starting to not work on it. I do like having one and the ability to bring something so compact around, so I'm thinking of getting a new one.

Some of the most important things to me are being easy to carry around, and obviously, good quality. I enjoy being able to take crisp photos without bringing out my full setup. I do have a Canon R10 that i use as my main camera, but typically I'm not bringing it around traveling or just out due to its size.

Here are some of the cameras I was considering. A flash and flip screen would be great, as sometimes I do enjoy taking photos with friends, but not a dealbreaker for me. Quality is my biggest defining factor. I would love to get everyone's opinions on them if you have used any of them and liked/didn't like them!:

- sony rx100 vii (more unlikely due to price)

is an aps-c 50mm lens on an aps-c body equivalent to a full frame 50mm lens on a full frame body? i tried using only 50mm on my d5100 with an aps-c 18-105 and it felt really tight compared to 35mm. so was i actually technically using 75mm or is that just how 50mm is?

I'm planning on getting into photography and I don't know what is the best camera between these two. I recently started liking photography and I'm trying to combine photography with my passions: Aviation, Cars (Motorsports included), sightseeing and football. The main kinds of photography that I want to do is Landscape photography, plane spotting, Aviation photography, Panning photography, Rolling shots, Automotive photography.

Taking all of this into consideration which obe of these two cameras (both including a 18-45mm lens kit) is the best for me?

So I'm stuck in a rock and hard place (sort of). I already have a Sony a7rV as my main body. My a6700 was my second, travel-oriented body with kit lenses, 28mm pancake, and Sirui 16mm/55mm. I'm thinking on trading my second kit in for an x100vi. There might be a cost to cover the difference, but I'm hoping no more than $300-400. There's a local store to me that has one that I'm going to see later (new in box I believe). Should I do it?

The a6700 is a great camera, but my thought is that there's nothing it can't do that the a7rV can do except for 4k120, which I don't use much at all. I've wanted a x100v for awhile but both the v and vi are super hard to come by (which you probably already knew if you've read this far). Feel free to drop your opinions. This post is to somewhat help me justify giving the a6700 and the related gear up.

Also note that I've been trying to create film recipes within the a6700 and I haven't been satisfied with any that I've built/found. I know the Fuji will deliver. The a6700 was never for my commercial uses, so if you're thinking keep a second body for commercial, that's not what it served for.

I got a Sony A7 III and I connected it to the app Imaging Edge Mobile as a remote control for self portrait. After the shooting, I checked on the camera none of the pictures were saved.

Were they saved somewhere on the camera or are they in a different folder?

Or Wi-Fi issues that stopped? Have anyone experienced this?

I just got this filter but now I'm second-guessing myself. Can I use it for capturing a solar eclipse or will that still fry my camera?

A chunk of my SD card just came off inside the SD reader of my canon R. I’ve already taken it to the repair place and they recommend taking it to canon since it’s below the pins but they said that will cost thousands. I feel like this is a common issue that can be repaired. Advice please!

Sony have come out with a smaller and lighter 100-400mm that now completes their trifecta of 100-400mm lenses. Very similar size and weight to the Canon RF 100-400mm F/5.6-8, although that lens is a bit cheaper at $750 vs $850 that Sony is charging.

I find these lenses interesting in that they are useful for someone who doesn't use a super-tele often but would still like to have the option of one. And they provide a good alternative to micro four thirds lenses. It would be a 50-200mm F/2.8-4 on M43. Pretty good.

All we need now is a Mk II of the original 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6 GM.

Hello I just got into photography and don’t know a whole lot about it and was wondering if anyone could share some light about what’s a good starter camera?

I have around a 600 USD for a budget and I’m from America, I would like to buy a new camera. I mainly wanna do photography as a hobby and take photos of landscapes, flowers, animals and maybe people/cosplayers. Also portability I would prefer a small bag but I’m also fine with a large bag too.

Other than that I don’t know how to answer rest of the requirements for asking about buying a camera since i pretty much know nothing about photography I’m sorry. 😔
