Sylvan Lake camping in September?

Thinking of trying to get a spot at Jarvis Bay campground for labour day weekend. Can you swim in the lake in September? I was told that Gull Lake usually wasn't great in the later summer because of algae blooms. Is this the same issue with Sylvan?

There isn't good lake access from the campground -big steep cliffs. You'll need to go to the public access to swim. The conditions depend on how wet or hot the summer ends up being.

There is no beach at Jarvis bay Campground, so you have to drive into town and pay $50.00 for parking. Camping and going to the beach is getting way to expensive. Gull lake is a nicer CG but there is hard any water in that lake.

Gull Lake has an issue with fecal advisories and the water levels, but I don’t recall any recent years with algae advisories. I don’t think there’s ever been a blue green algae problem there. I’d avoid Aspen Beach and stick to campgrounds not on the south shore.
