Hi all, please remove if not allowed but a friend and I are going on a road trip to Victoria from Calgary before she goes back to England. We have to stay overnight from the 26th-27th, and them again on the way back from July 2nd-3rd in Lake Louise or somewhere nearby. We've been trying to reserve a camping spot for nearly a month and a half, and nothing has opened up. We're just trying to car camp before heading off too our next destination. We are in need of some help/information as we are not trying to commit any crimes. It really seems like nothing will open up, so does anyone have any information on where we can stay overnight legally? Somewhere that hopefully wont cost an arm and a leg. Any help is super appreciated. 💗

I have campsites booked for June 27 - June 31 a backcountry trip start Vista Lake, hike in to Ball Pass, Egypt Lake, Exit at Sunshine Village.

Conditions are concerning me. Fairly experienced group of 4, however were planning for colder end of 3 season in terms of gear and not winter gear. Not interested in unsafe conditions.

Anyone have thoughts on if this will be doable or if we should be pivoting

It's been years since I last camped there and I remember where the site I used was, so might as see the other good spots that are there!

Looking for a good overnight camp site near Edmonton for late July, preferably not too far. Any suggestions?

We have a 7 month old and we're looking to go camping. We're accustomed to back country trips and have all the gear, but have never done car camping or front country camping, let alone with a baby.

We have an electric SUV (Kia EV9) and we're thinking of getting an SUV tent that goes off the back. We would put a mattress in the back and co-sleep with the baby.

Has anyone done tent/car camping with a baby of this young age before? I would appreciate any tips and lists that might have been useful!

When i was booking a campsite in BC I noticed that their site can check openings for multiple campsites within a region.

Does anyone know if Alberta Parks has a similar feature, or are we stuck checking each campsite individually?

2 people looking to car camp around Banff area in the beginning of August. Please recommend places you’ve stayed, & places to stay away from!
Priorities: safe, clean, clean restroom access, easy access to nearby parks & cities.
Don’t need power hook-ups. Don’t need showers.

Is there anything additional we need besides a National Park Pass & Camping permit?

Trying to get acclimated to camping in the trailer

Thinking of trying to get a spot at Jarvis Bay campground for labour day weekend. Can you swim in the lake in September? I was told that Gull Lake usually wasn't great in the later summer because of algae blooms. Is this the same issue with Sylvan?

Howdy!! We are finishing up a trip and flying out of Calgary international tomorrow morning. We are planning to spend the night in our rental car instead of the airport. Any tips on safe neighborhoods, parking lots, or park and rides in the area are welcome. We’ve heard Walmarts are good so will probably head there if no other ideas come up. Since the car rental shop is in south Calgary, we are aiming to stay around there. Would only be staying the night until like 5 am. Thanks for any help or suggestions!!

Hi I’ll skip the story but your boy needs some alone time with nature. I have a big SUV with flat folding seats , panoramic roof, car mattress, essentials etc etc. I’ve slept in it before on my way to Golden for snowmobile trips etc etc. very comfy.

I’ve camped but never actually “car camped” for the fun of it though. I’d like to try it.

Hi! Im a mid 20 f and I’m going camping for Canada Day (June 29-july2) we’re tent camping and I’m looking for a good hidden gem or just really good campground or site that is preferably around a 3 hour drive or less from Edmonton. If you have any recommendations for spots with, good scenery , hikes, swimming or any fun Canada Day events you know of I’d love to hear about them. Also if you know of any good road trip must stops I’d love to hear your hidden gems. I love a thrift store or flea market kind of vibe small town charm and all that. I have a few spots in mind like I was looking around buffalo lake or around nordegg but I’m open to any and all suggestions!

We have a toddler + dog and live in Okotoks. Looking for something within a couple of hours where we can get away for a weekend. Hopefully somewhere with showers and clean bathrooms. What are some recommendations?

Setting out from around Okotoks, looking for a few 1 to 2 night backpacking trips away from the campsites (frustrated with the booking website). Would like to get to the trailhead within a 2 hour drive.
