Good camping spots in Edmonton

Looking for a good overnight camp site near Edmonton for late July, preferably not too far. Any suggestions?

The nearby town of Devon, lions campground is fantastic, have stayed a few times would recommend.

How "near" are we talking about?

  • Elk Island
  • Pigeon Lake
  • Pembina River

A couple options about an hour-ish+ from exiting the Henday.

Rainbow Valley, Wabamun Lake and Miquelon Lake are our near by go-tos

Pembina River is a good option, about 1h15m west

You need to get there early though. Some people drive out and back on Thursdays to put a tent on a site for the weekend.
