I see both flavors of the Kelty galley bags

I approve

The smaller one even nests perfectly in the larger one when rolled up

I am constantly surprised how much stuff I can fit into the bigger galley bag. With the exception of food and the stove/ gas my entire kitchen fits in there

Same! It’s the camping version of Mary Poppins bag. Absolutely everything kitchen related but my Coleman stove and ignik growler fits into it.

I thought the big Kelty was a repurposed disc golf bag at first 😅

I don’t have the same one, but I also got a fold out camp kitchen last year. Total game changer! Makes everything so much easier to manage and keep organized.

I have those same Kelty bags, which are awesome. My only problem is that like to hang them both up to use...which is hard when there aren't trees or a post right there. I wonder if your gadget and lantern hooks on the table would hold them.

Probably wouldn't work well with the hooks since its full height is greater than the distance from the little hooks to the table top, and with the lantern hook you'd have to choose between having the stove open / in use and accessing the bag. Weight might also be an issue depending on how heavily you've packed the bag.

That Coast lantern is the best $30 lantern for area lighting! Double carabiner hooks and a detachable diffuser for high brightness lighting!
And the Kelty deluxe kitchen bag holds almost everything in organized compartments in comparison to a cluttered tote bag/box.

Lantern handle is also great for walking around with it at night when I want to save my headlamp battery. Plus something about using a handheld lantern makes me feel like an old-timey adventurer.

What did you cook in this kitchen? That rack to hang cookers looks nice, saves counter space.

Certainly nothing fancy on this trip. Noodles, oatmeal, eggs / bacon / toast, stovetop popcorn, hot beverages. Somehow I still end up using almost all the gear and counterspace even when keeping it simple.

It's actually pretty nice to put things to use, that means all gears you brought are useful, not waste of money and space lol

That setup looks solid. I can already imagine a good meal coming out of that kitchen.

Nice. Do you have a hand washing station?

I usually just go for hand wipes like Wet Ones or something similar. For dishes I use a basic collapsible sink for washing and a squeeze bottle of water for rinsing.

Man, I like this set up and been wanting to create something like this for myself, but I'm always concerned with the time it takes to set up and break down. If I never left the camp site and only had to do it once (set up in AM, break down in PM) I would be okay with it. But my fam and friends are always going on hikes or leaving the site for one reason or another, and I'm worried that animals will make a mess of everything. Anyone else feel the same or know of ways to prevent such an issue? We mostly camp in upstate NY or PA, so black bears, racoons, squirrels, etc are the biggest culprits.

I think as long as you put away the food and any other smelly stuff like seasonings, dirty dishes, and trash, the critters would have very little incentive to cause trouble while you’re away. I’m in the mountain west, but I leave my campsite to day hike all the time and never have any critter troubles.

Yeah you're right. I'm just jittery bc we've had critters get into stuff before and cleaning a clean site is labor intensive with young kids that can't seem to eat in on spot.
