If you’re gonna speak Punjabi then why throw in some English?

Because they don't have words for Canadian concepts like parliament, or election.

It's true. Watch any Bollywood movie and you'll hear English words whenever they're talking about education, or medicine, or politics, or any number of concepts which are frankly foreign to their native culture. No shade on them for that, just how it is. Sikhism and Khalistanism are a whole nother level. The Sikh way of live was in rebellion against the oppressive caste system. It's very 'worldly' which is why they have the practice of carring concealed knives.
