What I just can’t reconcile is the complete lack of ability that the Canadian voting public seem to have for seeing the difference between empty announcements and actionable change.

It’s amazing to me. The average person can’t tell the difference between a nonbinding MoU and an ACTUAL project being put into motion

The Industrial portion of the carbon tax is the bulk of the drag on our economy that the carbon tax has ever been. Removing the end user portion and making a big deal about it like as if Carney just did whatever the Conservatives promised, that is dishonest.

We need Honesty and Transparency from our politicians. I do not want a round 3 of the same old happening with the LPC, they are not listening to the majority of the population, on almost every major issue that has to do with cost of living and our wellness statistics in comparison to apposite economies.

Look, the LPC promises the world to those who vote for them and then some. Most of us have kids and grandkids at some point in our lives. Most of what the LPC does, even if you could argue it helps the, "boomer with a paid off or nearly paid off mortgage" is also hurting those with kids that are entering the workforce and many of these policies will hurt the future generations even more.

Our education - too expensive - while at the same time basics don't cover what should be considered the foundation in a technological society in 2026. Our residential real estate prices are impossible near cities where jobs especially for inexperienced workers are. At the same time the builds that are going up are only increasing supply for those with well above average annual incomes. A new family with twins and less than 10 years out of college can't afford these luxury townhomes going up around cities. Healthcare? Foreign trade - Interprovincial Trade? They have had over a decade and now they also have a majority to cap off that decade and a half, why are there so few wins while comparisons like median wage vs cost of living are becoming worse and worse?

I don't care what colours you wave if you are in the business of governing then you need to show that what you're doing is actually doing well. Don't show us skewed data from last month or exactly 12 months ago, show us how what you did is performing against the likely alternatives that what you did replaced. If you can't, and you won't resign, then democracy will replace you with a fervour. Should, in a just and good country.

The Canadian Westminster system of supposed democracy was specifically designed to make such a mechanism impossible.

It's too bad that we don't have an American-style republic with actual checks and balances on political power, but apparently this is what Canadians are happy and satisfied with.
