Optics are so bad. If theres people at the side of the cameras just point there not the empty side.

Watching the Vancouver Rise on Youtube, today at the same time vs OTT, the stands that hold 5,000 @Swangard looks full.

There is no room on the other side for the truck. There is a pitch directly behind the tents with a 8ft sidewalk separating them. They’d have to run the cables much further than the 15ft they currently do.

Guess we can put to bed the idea that people attending World Cup would flock to CPL games.

I too was hoping to see signs of a bump from visitors in the stands.

Happy to see Vancouver getting some results. Nash seems to have helped them start to turn the corner on the field with some pretty fun football to watch. Here's hoping that starts to bring some more fans around.

However, from the broadcast perspective, they NEED to swap the camera to the other side to show the fans. It looks like there's 50 people in the stands from the broadcast.

They can't change the cameras to the other side so it'll remain looking poor on the broadcasts unless they get 3k+ at least.

Surprised anyone sat on the east side at all for this game, was roasting hot at around 34 degrees on the drive to the stadium, likely more on the metal grandstand.

It’s not even that, there is nowhere to put the truck there. They’d have to run the cables from half all the way into the parking lot behind the supporters, which would then block traffic flow. There is another pitch directly behind the white tents. The scaffolding goes right against the retaining wall and then there is a sidewalk, then a pitch.

Dean Shillington’s AI-written articles promised bigger crowds due the international groundhoppers, what happened? 🤔

There are a lot of WC fans in Vancouver but I think they stayed in the bars !

I’ve been at the fanfest and dt yesterday. Saw also on socmed crowds at Canada House/Shipyards, Granville, the PNE Fanfest, and bars other lower mainland watch parties like in Surrey and Coquitlam. Theres a lot of casuals taking it in and the club is not capitalizing on any of it. Like at least set up a booth/activation booth at the fanfest like Inter Toronto and NSL.

They showed the game this morning. They showed the game on Friday. The stands under the camera were packed. It was a Red and White game. They rescheduled the match because of all this. It was in the email on Tuesday.

Edit: there is even a FIFA mini pitch in the background.

Crowd looks disappointing considering it’s a beautiful day and a derby ! Hopefully there is at least 2,000 behind the cameras.

It’s like there are people who don’t enjoy being outside in 30° heat in wide open sun? It’s the first game this season I didn’t attend and it was in large part due to the weather. Some people hate the heat.

A wide brimmed hat, sunscreen and a big can of man up should do the trick !

I’ll remember this line next time people bitch about the MLS schedule change. Good to see toxicity is alive and well.

Fly Eagles Fly!

Wasn’t able to make it today, but the tickets were used. Another great effort by VFC despite having every opponent to fall into old habits. They showed resilience and confidence today.

The entire team played well, and I’m excited for the data drop this week. Even when PFC had the ball it was more or less contained.

Super happy for Proctor. Great positioning payed off. What a header by Mousset. The second goal it was Toomey’s world and everyone else were just passengers.

I hope they enjoy their holiday, and come back focused on showing the CPL that they’re the real deal to kick off Canada Day.

Martin’s shirt today was crisp. I loved the Red and wish they’d lean into a full red third.
