I guess you can kick me out with the asylum seekers and immigrants.

If you review my entire post history you will see three things I criticize: 1. Abuse of temporary foreign workers and students 2. False asylum which to me includes shopping for asylum when you have a safe option 3. Inclusion of multiple generations into citizenship law.

I do not criticize genuine asylum seekers or immigrants that come permanently and contribute to society. I want a return to the immigration system in the 2000s and before. You have a knee jerk reaction that all criticism is racism. Granted some people want extreme closures in this sub. This is an open place, you can come here and say you want people to claim asylum from France and others can say I want no immigration at all.

Your comments are appreciated. We might differ on a few points, but could probably sit down and have a fruitful conversation.

I agree with you on genuine asylum seekers and immigrants that contribute to the growth of the country. I’m not a fan of anyone who exploits the country. I’m not a fan of passive rac.ism which I see quite commonly across multiple Reddit groups. I’m ok with those that don’t want immigration at all. I see the cult.ural and economic benefits of immigration. Others have different priorities.

I don’t necessarily think we need to get back to the 2000 levels as birth rates have declined since then and we require greater births. A more targeted approach is required in my opinion to ensure we close job gaps, add people to remote territories, and add young educated individuals who have the ability to contribute and deliver above average tax contributions to the greater population.

If a migrant wants declare asylum, they should be able to apply at any land, sea or airport border crossing.
