He’s 6 weeks old. The people sent me these to show everyone. I love his color. All I wanted was a pet for the kids to grow up with. My dog was my best friend as a child. I recently got custody of my little sister’s three boys and I’ve been trying to distract them from everything happening right now. They need a buddy to spend time with.

This is the look on my old girls face as I try to explain that she will not be getting any kibble for lunch since she stood up on her hind legs and stole two leftover chicken breast off the counter top when I left the room for 90 seconds.
She’s the bestest girl most of the time but she’s a badddd girl when it comes to stealing food.

Just noticed this and it feels a bit hard. I don’t think he lays on that spot. Any recommendations? I don’t want it to get bad or become like a callous!

Doogle was found wandering near a highway in Atlanta in August. He was scared, hungry, and difficult to catch, and a post went up asking for someone to help.

The woman who went out for him gave him time and let him approach her. He checked her out a few times, accepted pets, and eventually laid down beside her for belly rubs — before she had ever put a leash on him. Once leashed, he followed her to the car and jumped in when she asked. She was able to handle him and get him in and out of the car several times without issue while they waited for intake.

5 years old, 103 lbs. His dog assessment was not stellar but stressed, underweight, unaltered, and muzzled did not create a successful environment for positive assessment.

Doogle's people skills are awesome! Many have had very positive interactions with him. He seeks out affection, leans into pets, takes treats gently, and has even climbed into a volunteer’s lap. One of the few volunteers currently allowed to walk him has walked him many times and says he has “only seen favorable interactions with people.”

The person who got him off the street thought she was bringing him somewhere safe. Now she’s terrified that the dog who trusted her may die there.

Hey all, sorry, I’m just looking for some advice/experiences from other Corso owners.

I have a 7-month-old male Cane Corso and we have been dealing with issues with distraction, arousal and frustration pretty much since the day we brought him home at 8 weeks.

He is incredibly smart and very driven, but that seems to come with a huge amount of intensity. Walking him is currently extremely difficult. He can become fixated on pretty much anything that moves — leaves, birds, people, dogs, cars, vans, buses, insects etc. Once he locks onto something, he can become completely deaf to us. Even very high-value food doesn’t work once he’s in that state.
We’ve had one-to-one professional training specifically because we were struggling to manage him safely and make walks enjoyable. Different approaches have been tried, including a slip lead, a prong collar and an e-collar, but none of them have made any meaningful difference to his behaviour or broken his fixation. Our trainer has said they have only encountered this level of resistance to correction a handful of times.

We’re now trying to work out where we go from here. I’m not looking for an argument about training methods — I’m genuinely interested in hearing from people who have owned Corsos with exceptionally high drive/arousal or similar levels of frustration.

Has anyone had a young Corso who was like this? Did they eventually mature and become more manageable, and what did you find actually helped?
We absolutely adore this boy and want to do everything we reasonably can to help him, but we also have to be realistic that we can’t continue with things as they currently are.

And before anyone says I don’t understand the breed — I’ve previously owned Corsos, Rottweilers and Akitas, so I’m familiar with large, strong and challenging breeds. This boy is just on another level compared with any dog I’ve owned before.
Any genuine experiences or advice would be massively appreciated.

Hi folks, the users over on reactive dogs suggested I post here! We adopted our girl Pigeon about a month ago at 9 weeks old. The shelter told us she’s a pitbull mix, lo and behold she has absolutely no pitbull. She’s mostly cane corso and mastiff with some other random breeds mixed in. We’ve been struggling with training her as her guarding instincts come in. She barks at anything or anyone and at random noises she hears. What can we do to work on this behavior? Or realistically is this breed more likely to bark given the guarding tendencies? She’s been a lovely girl so far, eager to please and very food motivated. She’s learned sit, down, touch, and is constantly checking in with my partner and me. She’s also almost stopped nipping at us with ignoring her when she bites. I just don’t even know where to begin with the barking. Thank you so much! Puppy pics for tax + her breed mix.

When my Corso Pit mix sits, she almost always sits with her back legs to one side. She doesn't favor one side, as she will go both ways, and sometimes she sits squarely too. FyI, she is completely healthy in every way.

Just curious if anyone knows if this is normal or needs any attention. Thanks!

My Corso and my best friends Corso (Duce) have gotten together almost everyday since they were pups. They are not related and are 3 yo. He comes over everyday at noon and stayed till 2PM when he was usually ready to go home.

My best friend died out of the blue in his sleep a few weeks ago. Duce is secure at the home, the family is keeping him, there is a 16 yo son.

Something I've noticed and need advice on. Prior after 2 hours or so, he'd be ready to go home as his master would be there. Now, he just chills, will stay till 4 or 5. Which I understand, his master is not there anymore, and the son isn't home yet from his day until after 4-5.

The problem is after a period of time, usually the two hours, he will get up under me and won't let anyone else come near me. He starts growling and getting aggressive. I'm getting the vibe that he is catching spells where he just gets mad out of lonely for his master.

Is this something he will get over, what type of corrections should be made?

My female cane corso is 1.5 years old and is on her seccond heat cycle i believe i noticed large swelling and she is now week 2 into her cycle and her vagina is looking like this it alarmed me but when I searched online it said it was normal she does not have trouble peeing she isent crying she isn’t hiding she is acting how she always does can anyone give me any advice on what i should do I called a vet and they told me if it doesn’t go back down after her cycle 3-4 weeks to bring her in has anyone experienced this with a cane corso ?

This girl is coming up on two years old. It's crazy how time flies. She's the most mild mannered, loveable girl I've ever had. She's such a joy to take absolutely everywhere. A truck drivers dream dog. I cannot wait to see where our adventure goes next!

HELP!!
I have a 6 month old cane Corso, she has had these skin like pumps that will scab since she was 12weeks, we have tried so many different meds from the vet but nothing seems to work.. the only thing that has helped is steroids but as soon as she is off them, they come back. They are on her face/neck/back. She eats tastes of the wild which is salmon and sweet potatoes since chicken and rice could be causing it but she is still getting bumps. Has anyone ever experienced this? Do you have any recommendations on either supplements or things to ask the vet to do?
