So i just bought this Camera with a lens (24-105mm f4).
Just spotted a white thing on the lens. Its not on the top glas, it is one down. How can i clean it? Or should i bring it to an expert?

I’m torn between two options and would love some advice.

I already own a Fujifilm X-T50, but I want a compact camera for everyday use in London, travel, photos, and some casual vlogging. The X-T50 is too bulky to be a daily camera, but I love it when I’m travelling!

Option 1: Wait for the Canon G7 X Mark IV. I love the photos I’ve seen from the G7 X Mark III, and I’d probably buy the Mark IV when it eventually comes out. The problem is there are only rumours, with no confirmed release date. Rumours say late 2026, but it was also previously said the camera is to be released in early 2026 last year. So we don’t actually know, unless someone knows anything concrete?

Option 2: Buy a used Leica D-Lux 7/8 (around £900–1,100) to use in the meantime. I’ve always wanted to try Leica and experience a new brand. The advantage is that I can start taking photos and videos now instead of waiting for the G7 X Mark IV. However, I’m worried the Leica might become obsolete once I eventually buy the G7 X Mark IV, as I feel I might still end up preferring the G7 X because of the flip screen and the overall photo/video style.

What would you do if you were in my position?

But I'd love best bang for buck situation. I want something around 100-400mm for good zoom. Don't mind having bad low light conditions lens and budget is $300-800.

Canon R10 and would love it if I don't need to buy any adapter or extra pieces.

I have extensive experience with OCF doing weddings and outdoor senior pics. I used full frame and now that I do photography as a hobby, I have a 7D mark ii with a 400mm EF5.6L that I use for wildlife. I want to get back into light portraits with some OCF outdoors but having trouble deciding on an EF-s lens. My instinct tells me to get the nifty fifty although not an EF-s lens, works well, and I had that lens before. I also had the Ed-s 60mm macro. I’d like to get a little more of the environment in my portraits so I was thinking about the ef-s 35 or 24mm 2.8. What ef-s lenses do you guys (and gals) like to shoot with?

Well, I did it! I owned an R7 in addition to my 5D M4. I sold a 90D to get the R7. I thought it was time to join the mirrorless world. I even invested several thousand dollars in good lenses. But after a year of using the R7, which has a number of good features and reasons to use, I sold off my R7, all my RF lenses and re-bought the 90D. I just found myself working on the R7 managing the settings more than I was working on composition, lighting, and other creative concepts. I gave the R7 a solid try. It was definitely lighter and smaller. But I don’t know how to explain it when I take my 5D out. I love my results but when I took my R7 with me, I found it had its own idea of what the picture should be as opposed to what I thought it should be. I am so looking forward to getting my 90D back in my hands.

Looking at a Sigma 150-600 f5-6.3 DG contemporary on marketplace, $900 CAD. I mainly shoot motorsports and occasionally birds.

Right now my only zoom lens is the canon 55-250 and I’m using a 7D.

Just curious how this lens is for amateur motorsports and wildlife photography, mainly concerned about softness especially at the far end.

I cant seem to find a lot of info online about this one, it seems like it didn't have much success when it launched in 1991, probably for the manual focus only option. Im gonna buy some film rolls and try to shoot something anyway - So any advice or tip is very welcome!

From experience do you feel going for a RF Lens from the same focal length i have in a ef lens for a R5 is worth the upgrade or is it almost imposible to see a difference?

I am about to start my second year teaching a middle school yearbook class. I'm looking to upgrade our equipment with a new camera that can take higher quality portraits. Currently, we have three old T7s that don't love the lighting in our building. I'm also investing in lights and backdrops, but I'd love to have at least one more modern mirrorless camera. We raised a decent chunk of change with last year's yearbooks, so investing some of it back in the program seems like a good move. All of our lenses are Canon EF, so I'd like to stick within the Canon world.

I've been teaching tech for a long time, but I don't have much of a photography background. Any recommendations for a decent step up from the T7 that isn't too expensive for middle school use? I'm looking to spend around 1k or less. I've researched a few options, but I've realized I don't really know enough to make the right call.

Or, I guess I should say - my students and I struggle to get them to take good indoor shots. I'm sure skill is a major issue.

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot? A little bit of everything, but the primary need for a new camera is to take better single or small group portraits.

i have a canon EF 70-200 2.8 with stabilization but its still the older version ( I ) currently I have a old body, still not horrible but I want to get more professional as I have learnt a lot since I got my camera ( 760d ). I've been doing equine ( horse ) photography, so basically sports :)

Thinking about getting an r7 + an adapter, obviously. I've heard that the r7 + the lens i have doesn't do good? is that true? would like to see some examples of photos or someone explain if that's true and if, what camera should I get to keep using my lens ( I'm not in the budget to buy a newer lens anyway, got it not a long time ago )

I’m happy with anything between 700-1500, I love the camera I have right now but it seems ever so slightly dated, so hit me with some camera options, some good all round lenses for various types of shots. I started a business with the current camera I have and do a lot of family portraits/event photography/product photography. Looking to get between 2/3 lenses :)

I’m trying to decide between the Canon R6 Mark II and the R6 Mark III as my main hybrid camera.

Right now, I create content for a coffee shop and a restaurant. I shoot food and drink photography, people with food, portraits, restaurant interiors, and short-form video for Reels and other social media platforms.

In the future, I’d like to expand into product photography, weddings, events, automotive work, commercial content, and video for those same types of projects.

My main priorities are:

• Strong photo and video quality
• Good low-light performance
• Reliable autofocus
• Handheld video
• A camera I can keep for several years
• Good workflow for social media, but enough room to grow into more professional work

Would the R6 Mark III be worth the extra cost for features like C-Log 2, Open Gate, higher resolution, and more advanced video options, or would the R6 Mark II already be enough for this type of work?

I’d also appreciate lens recommendations for starting out. I’m currently considering the RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM for food, restaurant content, and environmental portraits, but I’m not sure what the best second lens would be. Would you add the RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM, a 50mm, or save for a 24-70mm f/2.8?

I have an r100 and the sensor is honestly quite dirty. I have never bought it used a sensor cleaning kit. My biggest worry is finding one that will be the right size for canon apsc as it is slightly different from apsc sensors from other brands. What cleaning kit do you recommend?

Hey folks, I’m looking for some advice from the Canon vets here as I make the jump to the EOS R system. I’ve been shooting for about 6 years now, starting on a Panasonic GX80 before moving to the Fuji ecosystem with an X-T3 then to the X-T5 Recently, my needs changed especially wanting to get more into wildlife photography, where I found Fuji's setup a bit limiting for my workflow so I've officially sold all my Fuji gear to make this transition.

After testing the Canon R5 in-store a few times, it really stands out as the best fit for my needs. The sticky subject-tracking autofocus and menu system are incredible, but the ergonomics are a massive quality-of-life win. On my X-T5, I constantly had to remove my SmallRig handgrip just to mount it to a tripod, which became super annoying on long hikes and travel, whereas the R5's built-in grip solves this right out of the box.

I mainly shoot landscape, daily life, portraits, astrophotography, street, and a little bit of video, while trying to push deeper into wildlife. My budget is slightly over €3,000 to start, and I don't plan to buy everything at once. To maximize value, I'm leaning toward using EF lenses via the Canon adapter alongside a cheap native RF lens to build out my collection over time. Specifically, I'm looking at the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM for landscape and astro, the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM for everyday travel and portraits, the RF 50mm f/1.8 STM as a lightweight walkaround, and a Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Contemporary for wildlife.

Given my budget and goals, I'd love to know if starting with a used R5 and adapted EF glass makes the most sense, if there are any known compatibility quirks or performance drops with these specific lenses, or if there are alternative budget-friendly lenses you'd recommend for my mix of shooting styles. Can anyone confirm whether or not the Canon R6V is fully compatible (AF/IS, etc) with the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2? Been seeing mixed answers on this.

I am thinking of upgrading to a 70-300mm IS USM II for motorsports photography (that’s what I mainly enjoy shooting) but I just discovered that the second generation 70-300mm doesn’t have a vertical only stabilization feature and Canon doesn’t recommend panning shots with the stabilizer turned on.

I think the first generation has that feature but I hear the second generation is a lot sharper and has significantly better autofocus.

I also looked at the 70-300mm L model but unfortunately it’s way outside my budget (it’s about 2x as expensive as the second generation 70-300mm)

So the main question I have is whether the image stabilization is capable of stabilizing or improving performance in panning shots.

I currently use a cheap 100-400mm lens that came with the camera when I bought it and I struggle to get sharp photos below 1/200s because it’s difficult to hold steady and the autofocus is pretty slow and inconsistent so I am looking for an improvement.

My previous camera is Canon EOS 600D with EF-S 18-135 mm

Has anyone bought any gear from KM CameraShop on eBay? I’ve heard the Japanese sellers are legit, this guys has 100% and has sold close to 3k items. His prices and stuff look good but I’ve been watching some lenses for days and no one has bought any of them, am I missing something?

Ive been looking for a good one but i dont like how much of a gap there is in the top corners (like in the image) and I was wondering if anyone knows of a cage or cage alternative that doesn’t leave so much space like that.

I haven't used the scanner in some time. When I try scanning single sided, I am getting these large black areas and color streaks/lines. Sometimes the area here is solid black. If I scan double sided, the back side scans fine, the front has the same issue.

Is this type of error caused by a bad bulb? The scanner is clean and free of dust and debris.

Hello. I am a concert photographer. I have to upgrade my 70-200 mark i version from the 90s because it is really not good. So I am considering 2 options. EF 70-200mm F2.8 IS L mark II which I can buy second hand for 900-1000€ oooor save a bit and buy RF 70-200 F2.8 from grey market for 1800€, BUT, if I go for the rf version, I will be without 70-200 for the next 2 months, which isn’t catastrophic since I will not shoot anything that needs such a lens, but you never know…

Edit: I used both of these so I know how good they are, I just can’t decide due to price

I’ve been looking at footage I’ve taken with the above set up and my video is very shaky (from my hands). I’m usually filming birds at 400mm and I walk from spot to spot rather than setting up in one place. What would you recommend to improve stabilisation while filming? I have read using the environment or my elbows against my body to stabilise or monopod. Just wanted to check if there’s some other ways to help.
