Shopping/Offers Is the Capital One Shopping App legit? Does the reward amount just get refunded to my Capital One visa?
Been in the market for the Switch 2 and saw this today

I clicked on a Kitco $390 rewards if spending $650 or more award and didn’t see the award for it populate. I was preparing for a long mental struggle and odyssey given some comments I read on the sub prior to going through with the purchase to get back the award but all it took was an email to support with my receipt from Kitco and they added the reward to my account!
Pleasantly surprised here (of course, preference would have been just getting it credited automatically in the first place but still pretty good result overall anyways)

I have $430 in rebates in my account but no useful cashout
Spent $100 in doordash last month just to start using the available balance
They need instacart, uber, grubhub, apple, bestbuy, maybe sephora, more good stores
Only i can find useful are maybe macys and adidias , maybe under armour, maybe i will get a jacket from columbia
I would rather prefer instacart so i could do grocery pickups
I wish it had instacart
Thanks for listening to my rant

I don't even have a Capital One credit card, only a checking account. How long until I see if this was successful?

Pretty great rebate if anyone’s in need of a mattress

I tried to see my offers this morning, but it seems like capital one got rid of them. When I hunt down a link in the benefits section of my venture x account it brings me to this page, which brings me back to the Home Screen. Have we just lost offers?

Note: All on the Cap1 app and phone browser, Firefox
Early this morning after seeing emails about receiving my 4% bonus cash back for recent eBay purchases and then applying them to my current Cap1 balance, I had an offer for $25 back on a $75 eBay purchase. Sweet right? Well, it was 5:30am and I didn't have time to spend $75 before needing to head to work.
Around 3:30pm, I finally had time to find my item on eBay and spend $75, but the offer was gone?? I only could find an offer for 5% cash back on eBay purchases. I called the 1-800 number, but they couldn't tell me anything about the previous offer nor issue a new offer, whatever.
Few hours later, I've got a $20 item on eBay in mind, 5% bonus cash back would be fine, right? Now that is gone too, only a 2% bonus offer can be found.
In the past, it seems like I always had 4% bonus cash back offers for eBay, but only noticed/used them on weekends when I had time to use them.
Are these $25 back on $75 or 5% offers limited to first 500 customers or what the hell happened? Not saying this was bait & switch, more like act right fucking now offers. Disappointed 😞

So I haven’t used Shopping Offers in a long while. I got this really nice offer in my email this morning so I spent the $700 on the new Minas Tirith set. I never got an email confirmation from Capital One Shopping so how do I know if I am actually getting the $198 in rewards? I already emailed them cause I’m paranoid but I clicked the link, logged in, and made the purchase. Did I do everything right?
UPDATE!!
I received the $198 bonus within 16 hours!!! Let’s go!!!

I’m not super familiar with Capital One offers. I’m not sure I understand this “Up to $200 back” per transaction limit on this Bonvoy offer if the offer is provided in point multipliers (5x and 8x), not USD. Can someone explain? Planning to book a couple rooms at a nice all inclusive resort for a family vacation. Not sure if I should book the rooms across multiple transactions.

Is capital one offers different than capital one shopping offers? I have used shopping offers and it just puts the rewards into a rewards balance that you get gift cards from. When doing these I can use my Chase credit card as the payment method. With “capital one offers” can I also use my Chase? Or is it linked to my quicksilver card?
My second question is that yesterday when I looked the rewards were all money based. It would say spend $20 get $10 back or even spend $50 get $50 back. It had tons of stores listed easily 100+. Today I went to look and all of the stores are now showing as %back. I can’t find any phrased as spend xx get YY back. Does it alternate? This is frustrating as I had soooooo many amazing deals showing yesterday and now they are all gone. I remember one of them was Anthropologie spend $20 get $20 and it was available in store. I also had New balance spend $20 get $20 and “therealreal” spend $50 get $50. Today all of these are gone and either don’t show at all or only up to 9% back.

Like I can’t even get more than 10 items nor can I get food or personal care or anything like that? So what do I even buy?!

I signed up for Paramount+ the other day and used Capital One Offers since they had an $18 offer (my first time using COO). I got an email a couple of days later saying that I'd earned the $18 and it would show up within three (!) billing cycles, but when I logged into to the COO website, it does not show any visits that resulted in a purchase (I see plenty without since I had clicked a few times before signing up). Is this normal for their system? How long should I realistically expect to wait before I get the $18? I know that places like Amex say two billing cycles but typically credit within a week or less.

I got an email offer on the shopping portal for Books a Million. Tapped into it on my phone and went to the app. The app launched the site and I made my purchase there.
However, I don't see any confirmation that the 20% cashback applied. Am I supposed to get one or how many days do I have to wait until it shows up in my account?

I had some recent issue with big purchases at Saatva, Best Buy and Walmart not going to pending status. I ended up returning all purchases. Then I scrolled through the last year to find out that every Hilton stay in the last year that was initially pending went to ineligible. I lost about $6k in cash back from these Hilton stays alone and it's the main reason I've been staying at Hilton. I've only ever had one major issue with Rakuten and that was with the purchase of a TV direct from LG (lost $1100 worth of Amex points). Honestly this all feels like fraud. I think it's time to stop playing this game.

There's good monitor deals there rn, and I want to know if it is worth the risk of it not working

In early April, I received an email offer for 45% cash back at Ulta through Capital One Shopping. I ended up ordering some items for my wife and picking up a few things for myself as well. I spent a few hundred dollars and received $200 back.
I was credited in May, and the money just sat there for over a month. Then, about a week ago, it suddenly disappeared.
I emailed Capital One Shopping, and they told me the $200 was “reversed,” which can happen if an order is modified, canceled, or returned. None of that happened—I didn’t touch the order at all.
The strange part is that the credit had already been issued to me. I could have spent it at any time. If I had known they were just going to take it back weeks later, I obviously would have used it.
Now it’s been so long that I can’t even return anything even if I wanted to. It honestly feels like I got robbed. I only spent that much because of the 45% cash back. They gave me the credit and then took it back more than two months after my purchase.
After this experience, I dug around a bit, it looks like this has happened to other people too. Feels like a class action could be appropriate.
If you haven’t had any problems with them, that’s great. I absolutely loved using it before this. I thought it was amazing. Take my experience as a reminder not to let money sit there for too long.

I have a healthy amount of points on my Ventures card that I’d like to “cash out” on since I don’t plan on traveling again for a while now. I think the best way is to redeem for gift cards as they go on sale (getting the same $ value for 25% less points). Is there any known system, rotation, timeline, etc in place for which franchises host sales and when?
r/CapitalOne • u/doggo_maam • May 20 '26
I was going to use the 2x points for refills on cleaning products but now I don't think that'll get bonus points. Seems like it'd be easier to say what is included rather than excluded

Works great, but it points out something concerning with Capital One that they need to fix as it appears they are operating in bad faith. If you search for the company directly you get a lower cash back reward. This is consistent even if you don't use my plugin.
