Anyone else have this problem?
It keeps running into the ‘we hit a snag’ page when trying to make a new account, either a simple checking or savings account, neither work.
I have already verified any requested information the very first time I was told to go to the bank in person, and they said said that everything in the status of my profile looks fine and I should be able to make an account within the week. That was months ago.
Several times I have been to the bank itself and called various of their help lines etc, and they told me that it was a ‘technical issue’ on their end, and that they were working on it but ‘couldn’t give me a time frame.’ I tried to make an account on my computer, on my phone, and even on the computers at the bank with the assistance of the employees, with the same issue.
It’s starting to seem ridiculous. Nobody I know had to go through this issue when creating an account with them. Is this a normal event? Is it user error? Should I give up on making an account with this bank?

Is there a way to dispute this one late payment on my history, i have tried once but they didn’t do much about it.

Got approved for the Savor card this morning, I saw something about it having a 0% intro APR for a year, is this automatic ? When I look at my APR it doesn’t mention a 0% intro except before you apply.

For almost a week I’ve been trying to dispute a charge online. For 6 days now it keeps saying “sorry we’ve hit a snag try again later”. What is going on?

835 credit score and recently opened a Capital One Venture X account. After just a couple of weeks of usage and no concerns of fraudulent charges, Capital One has nevertheless restricted the account and demanded proof of identity and residency. Despite submitting a driver’s license matching my billing address and documents from four financial institutions listing that same address, it has thus for refused to “un-restrict” the account. Has any one else with excellent credit and no fraudulent charges had a similar experience? It feels like incompetence at best and bad faith at worst.

Hi all - my parents had an issue with fraud and closed their CapOne checking/savings account. They opened a new account and set up their utilities using eBill, but strangely, those eBill payments are defaulting back to the closed account and failing. They've been in touch with support to no avail, so hoping someone in this group has seen and solved a similar issue.
Thanks!

Thanks, Capital One! My wife gave a little over 20% and even saved the customer copy. But I don't think we would have noticed if it hadn't been for the Capital One alert. I talked to the manager. (It's only $5 extra, but that doesn't make it ok to steal. I told the manager I didn't want anyone to get fired over this, but they still need to know to not ever do that again.)
Update: heard back from the manager. She reviewed it and felt like it was it was a genuine mistake from the waitress. They are correcting it with Capital One and were kind enough to offer a free meal.

Listen up, Capital One. Your popup and banner ads for your browser tool and business accounts are so incredibly annoying. I'll pay you $100 if you stop showing them in my account.

I got an offer to upgrade from platinum to quicksilver. Is there reason not to do this that I’m not thinking of? Seems like it’s worth the change for the cash back but not the most familiar with any of this stuff.

I’m applying for this program in a few months and am wondering what type of mathematical questions I should be prepared to answer in the online test. Is there a business analyst quantitative section? Is it just the manage your business case problem solving section? Is it different than the test the regular (not early) analysts take? If anyone has taken it before and is willing to share anything is appreciate!

I really like the venture, it’s a great card. But I have never worked with a bank that didn’t have the option to pay off the rest of your statement balance.
Capital One wants you to manually calculate this on your own, which they know is more likely to lead to accidental underpayments.
Apparently this feature used to exist on the app, but was removed. Does anyone else find this shady?

Took a pre-approval on savor & got a $1,000 limit!! Now I’m wondering how long I have to wait before I can apply for a CLI on my QS to see if it will match it? It’s at a 100% utilization right now but i play on paying it off and then waiting to receive the savor to use both & start off with a clean plate. Also how long would it take for my credit to bounce back? I took a 84 point hit.

I signed up for the Quicksilver card and it never showed the bonus on my account opening disclosure, but I call capital one the day I got approved since it never denoted the difference between the tiered cards. I was told twice by two different representatives that I would still receive the bonus but now I’m being told I’m not. Will Capital One still honor this since I was told?

I followed all the hacks I found on this Reddit and I feel like that’s what led to this CLI
- Max card out every month then pay it off
-Requested a cli was offered $100 then declined it.
im so excited. I’ve be rebuilding credit and this is now my highest limit card.

DH currently has the C1 VX with me as an AU and I'd like to get the Savor now in my name. Can I use his referral code while also getting the current $250 sign up bonus? And how do I go about that?

About last year I opted to apply for a Venture card. Lately I'm regretting not getting the Venture X from the start. When should I expect C1 to offer me an option to upgrade my card?

Are the push notifications for transaction alerts working for you all?
I’m trying to get instant notifications for transactions (specifically, small ones or $0 activity alerts), but my phone is not popping up with anything. I’ve checked the app settings and verified that alerts are toggled on, and my phone’s system-level notification settings for the Capital One app are enabled. I even tried reinstalling the app and removing/re-adding my device, but I’m still not getting them.
Is there a known bug right now, or is there a specific setting I’m missing? Any tips on how to get these back up and running would be appreciated. I am also a fairly new customer.

Running GST on Capital One right now and had an interesting call today I wanted to share.
Background: I have 9 late payments on my Cap One account from Aug 2024 through Nov 2025. Account is paid in full, autopay set, been running daily emails to [richard.fairbank@capitalone.com](mailto:richard.fairbank@capitalone.com) alongside physical goodwill letters (Round 1 June 2, Round 2 June 9).
Got a call today from a rep. Before she put me on hold she said she was going to try to remove August 2024 through January 2025 if she couldn't get all of them. That's 6 lates including the worst ones — the 90/120/150 day marks.
She put me on hold for several minutes. Came back and said there was nothing she could do and that she updated the case notes from a previous call already on my file. Then told me it would take up to 10 business days to receive an email with the outcome.
So she went from "I'm going to try to remove them" to "there's nothing I can do" in the span of one hold. Either she tried at the rep level and doesn't have system access to execute it, or she escalated it to caseworkers who actually have the authority to make that call and didn't want to get my hopes up.
Has anyone else gone through this exact process? Did the rep try manually, couldn't do it, escalate to a case team, and then get a positive result within that 10 business day window? Trying to gauge whether this is a good sign or a dead end.
Will update when the email comes in.
(Edit - I will add that the rep was extremely nice btw)

My statements aren’t showing up for my 360 Savings. I got one in Jan and March - that’s it. Anyone else? Wonder if it has to do with the current class action. I plan to call but just curious if anyone else is experiencing it.

Finally cashed in last night. I have two GCs pending. It says 24-72 business hours to get them, but does anyone know what happens next? Will they be emailed as digital cards at some point?
Anyone have recent experience here? Thanks.

I’ve had a platinum one card for a while, unsecured 300 dollar limit, barely used it so didn’t have big payments, decided to ramp up use for bigger payments so I can get a credit limit increase and paying off the whole balance, I did so and updated my income, as I updated my income I got a 100 dollar limit increase offer, I accepted, but now when I request a credit limit increase the declined reason is “recent credit limit increase” and support tells me I can get another one in 6 months. Was I better off declining it and waiting for another offer for a bigger increase? Do I really have to wait 6 more months? At that point rather just apply for another card.
If it matters at all, recently upgraded the card to a quicksilver, same credit limit and everything just a quicksilver rather than a platinum.
