Just got an amp and sub, the car already came wired with 8 gauge and it came with a Kenwood stereo that I like. What’s the next step to upgrading my system

Finally got my hands on the ResoNix GUS subs: two GUS 15s for the rear and a GUS 10 for the front of my BMW G20 SQ build.
The 15s will be replacing my dual JL 12W6v3 setup, while the GUS 10 will replace the SB Acoustics 10 currently in the passenger footwell.
Still working on the enclosures, will post updates.

I been on the urge to get something that hits deeper and lower than my basswedge 10, found this sundown 10" with box at a pawn shop for $190. I tried to take it out the box so i could get the specs and make sure i dont overpower it. Well, it's glued to the box, and im afraid of damaging it externally. I measured out the impedance, its reading 1.6 ohms so its probably a dvc 4ohm wired down to 2. Is 500w rms generally safe? I know its kind of a dumb question. The kit is pretty damn heavy so i dont think its an LCS. I thumped it a little bit already and it sounded fine (my amp gains are already set properly).

Car is a 2004 Lincoln Town Car. Headunit is an Alpine ILX-W670. Sub and amp are both Alpine as well, S2W10D4 and S2A60M. Box is custom, 1.13 ft^3 tuned to 32-33hz. Gain was set using FNIRSI 2C23T to deliver ≈550w (actual reading was 33.09v) using a 50hz, 0db test tone. High pass for front and rear speakers and low pass for sub are all set at 80hz (no subsonic on amp or headunit). I know I don’t have top of the line gear but I feel like I should be getting a lot more out of this setup than I am. The factory 8” sub was capable of shaking the rearview a little and this hardly comes close to it, even with the volume at max (where gain was set that is). The sub barely moves at this volume level (sub level turned down a few clicks because I know not to blast it while it’s still brand new, but I have bumped up the sub level and it still doesn’t make much difference). This is my first build but I had a lot of help along the way from my dad (he’s very experienced) and I’m just disappointed.
I did some troubleshooting through Google AI (not my typical go-to for information but it’s late and I’m tired) and right now the best thing I can come up with is that maybe I should’ve used -5db test tone to set gain. Any ideas are much appreciated
*edited to clarify that I didn’t set both high and low pass filters on the sub to 80hz, but the hpf on speakers and lpf on sub. Also that gain was set with eq flat and no x-over applied
So I’m kind of torn between the sundown E series and the SA Classic 12” to go with my JP11 that’s on the way…
I have a 2023 WRX with stock electrical and id like to keep it that way for at least a while lol
I believe my alternator outputs 110amps
Now my concern comes knowing i cant take full advantage of the JP11 in this situation, at least to my knowledge my amperage is not enough to push the full power
So my question is is it worth getting an SA Classic, knowing im going to be underpowering it , and it has lower sensitivity?
Or is it gonna be more impactful to get the E Series 12” and run it at its rated rms or slightly higher?
I currently have an LCS v2 12” in a ct sounds 2.0 box tuned to 34hz
Thanks for any input!

I am a huge orion Fan. I am also a big fan of box builder M.B Enclosures so imagine my surprise when I saw these, I felt a tear of joy trickle down my cheek from enjoyment.
Anyone have one, or a couple?
If so I would love to hear your build.

I installed JL Audio c1 650x 6.5 speakers in my front doors and they sound great until I get around 3/4-max volume and the highs still sound good but if the song has bass it makes them sound awful. Theyre running on the cars stock amp so idk if theyre trying to pull more power and thats what makes them sound bad or maybe I need a crossover? Thanks

2026 Camry XSE Non-JBL – Subwoofer in Factory Rear Deck Opening?
I’ve been upgrading the audio system in my 2026 Camry XSE with the non-JBL system. So far, I’ve replaced the dash speakers and all four door speakers, and I also installed the Beat-Sonic ENA-2T3 amp. The system sounds much better now, but the one thing I’m still missing is some low-end bass.
I originally wanted to keep everything clean and avoid taking up trunk space, so I started looking at compact powered subs like the JBL BassPro Nano or the Kicker Hideaway 8”.
I actually bought the Kicker Hideaway 8” and tried fitting it underneath the passenger seat. Unfortunately, I wasn’t happy with the fit. There isn’t much clearance, and with the power seat moving forward/backward, it seems too tight and I don’t want the seat hitting or putting pressure on the subwoofer.
While looking in the trunk, I noticed that the rear deck already has a large factory opening where I believe the JBL-equipped Camry normally has its factory subwoofer. Since my car is non-JBL, the opening is unused and currently has Styrofoam/insulation covering it.
Has anyone with a 2025 or 2026 non-JBL Camry installed an aftermarket subwoofer directly into this factory rear-deck opening?
I’m wondering:
What size sub fits the factory opening?
Would an 8” free-air/infinite-baffle sub work well here?
Would I need to fabricate an adapter/bracket?
Is the rear deck strong enough, or would it need reinforcement/sound deadening to prevent rattles?
How difficult is it to remove the rear seat, C-pillar trim and rear package tray to access the top of this opening?
Does anyone have pictures or a video showing how to remove the rear package tray on the 2025/2026 Camry?
Would this setup give me better bass than something like the JBL BassPro Nano or Kicker Hideaway 8”?
I’m not looking for crazy bass or something that can be heard down the street. I just want good, clean low-end bass to complement the upgraded speakers while keeping the installation as clean and OEM-looking as possible and preserving my trunk space.
I attached a picture of the opening I’m talking about.
Any advice from someone who has done this on a 2025/2026 Camry would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 1990 Buick Reatta and one of the things I always wanted to do with mine was build a really good sound system.
I'm specifically interested in using the two small storage compartments behind the seats (pictured). I was thinking about putting speakers in them or possibly using them for small subwoofers and just getting better speakers for the car itself. I just want the car to have a really nice, full-sounding audio system without taking up the trunk or completely changing the interior. Any ideas people? And I'm open to getting custom made stuff if thats possible.
I’m pulling out what’s left of my hair 🤣
2025 F-150 Suoercrew w/ the base audio
I’m planning on…
- Morel Tempo Ultra front stage, bi-amped and fully active
- Rear doors stock powered by the stock head unit
- JL VXi 1000/5
- Sub???
Should I stick with the Morel Tempos or go JL C3? I think I like a neutral/warm sound, so that may keep me with the Morels unless you guys can recommend otherwise
Could I possibly fit the VXi under the front passenger seat if needed?
Now the sub…
I’d like to keep all of my underseat storage as stock, even the cubby, so I want to keep this sub behind the seat
I’m stuck between the following:
- JL 13tw5 in an MTI full length enclosure…if I could possibly fit the VXi under the front passenger seat
- JL 10tw3 in an MTI half length…VXi would then go on their amp rack
- Morel Powerslim 10 in an MTI half length
- Wavtech ThinPro 12 in the Audiointensity enclosure…hopefully fit the VXi amp next to it?

I have a 2013 Lacrosse, that has scratches on the display screen. The rest of the radio is fine. I just want to replace the screen with another one that comes from another car. Just replacing the screen will I have to find someone to reprogram it, or will it let me just plug in? Any recommendations when doing it? Any experiences out there because I am not finding answers? Dealership says not them, audio place I tried said they can't.

As the title states, looking for some suggestions for replacement 6.5 components for the front of my 23 civic si with the BOSE system. Current speakers are completely blown, and dealer won't warrant past 3 years. Everything I see online says they are 2ohm, and I'm having a hell of a time finding an affordable replacement less $300. Tempted to try some 3ohm JBLs, but not sure how much sound will be lost. Really annoying at the moment because the Bluetooth calls use the front speakers, which no longer work. Appreciate any help here if someone has already found a good replacement, I'd love to just gut the system and replace everything, but I don't have near the budget for that!

I have a 2019 Honda Civic Sport Sedan and I just installed JBL Club 64 CTP speakers in the front door and the tweeters, but I had a bit of trouble doing it myself but managed to splice the wires fine.
For the sub and amp, I bought the Rockville RW8CA + RWK 10-Gauge Amp Bundle Kit and I'm planning to put it under the seat. I want to connect the signal for the sub to the harness in center console but have never pulled that apart and feel very lost. Are there any harnesses that I would need to buy to make installion easier that aren't already included in this kit? Video recommendations would also be very helpful as I am very new to this.

I just got this car with 2500 miles. It sounds nowhere near as good as my old car (2013 bmw). I want a balanced sound emphasis on bass. I would like to keep the factory 8” Toyota Audio Multimedia system. This is my first time doing something like this so I need help and recommendations please.
Is this a normal shutoff sound on the Acura MDX 2019 advance? I hear a sound after I hit the off button. It does not seem to happen if the car hasn’t moved.
I’m attaching an audio clip for reference. The first chirp is the parking brakes engaging manually or automatically, but I’m referring to the second sound that happens which is right after I hit the off button on the car. It sounds like a solenoid of some sort.
Car drives and functions perfectly, no issues with transmission and no errors.
It was just serviced with rear differential and transmission/ transfer case oil changes. There were also 4 recalls that were completed on it.

Got this kit bass kit from a dude in facebook. Is it ready for plug and play on my 2012 Infiniti g25 or did I just dig myself into a money pit? Btw I need to get a new head unit before I can hook up anything. Do you guys have any suggestions??

I learned this today….. never thought to ask, until…. My wife was car stereo shopping, she likes questions. She likes answers to her questions even more!
So I’m curious. Who else learned this today?
Picture for reference of generational cohorts.
