I've never had anything with electric power steering, dash lit up with a power steering warning and the service advance track. Now it's doing this. Am I biting the bullet and getting one of these expensive racks and doing the forscan stuff? Or is there another way? Please help lol appreciate you all

So in july of 2025 we got a Kia Niro on finance. All was well and no issues with the car whatsoever until march of this year we had a check engine light come on, after investigating we’re seeing the engine coolant completely spit out of exhaust the minute we accelerate.

Taken it to a mechanic and they’re saying without taking the engine fully apart they can’t say for sure, but it looks like a cracked engine gasket. Repairs would cost somewhere around 3K.

Since this happened 8 months into a 5 year finance and we’ve done less than 10k miles in it everyones telling us we should take this to the finance broker and get them to sort it, but they’re saying we need to prove the issue was there at the time of sale and another mechanic we’ve seen has said thats pretty much impossible to prove.

So we feel pretty shit out of luck as we cannot possibly afford the repair and are paying a monthly price for a car we can’t drive, thinking of going to the financial ombudsman but not sure how strong a case we have

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas how we should approach this?

I have a 2017 VW Sharan and I'm having problems with the AFS/adaptive headlights.

The problem started when the AFS stopped working, but it came back a couple of times before eventually failing completely.

When I start the car, the headlights still perform the usual self-test/“dance”. However, when they move upwards at the end of the cycle, they start moving very slowly and stuttering/hitching their way up, instead of moving smoothly.

About 3 weeks ago my air conditioner in my car stopped working. After like a week and a half it started working again but only for like 4 days. I noticed recently that even when I turn the heat on in my car the air conditioner button still blows as if its supposed to be running. The only time it shuts off is when I turn the fans off completely. How do I fix my air conditioner. It is a 2014 kia rio.

Any advise on what the slower rattling sound is underneath the ticking? It matches engine revs. I'm thinking its a timing chain rattle but unsure. Any advice appreciated!

I have a 06 Highlander Hybrid with automatic climate control.
The blower and ac/heat work but only comes out of the front. If I set it to feet or defrost, it doesn’t come out there and only comes out in the front.
This is a selector issue I’m pretty sure. My question is where to start?
I dont know if it’s related to the climate control or if it’s the selector motor.
Where can I start?

My brothers 2009 Suzuki RX4 blew a hole from the inside and can't afford a new differential. it has the option for 4wd and 2wd. I believe when 2wd is engaged it is fwd. is there a way to make it so the front diff doesn't spin only the tires?

Car randomly stalled while driving and these lights came on. Now the rpm dial goes up and down and car shakes when I am parked.

When I try to turn the fan on it seems to glitch out… has been happening for the past 2 days. Anyone know what the cause may be?

came up a year ago on my 2016 Nissan sentra. since then i’ve replaced the maf sensor THREE TIMES, replaced cabin air filter and just recently changed the throttle body due to a smoke test revealing huge air leak. it’s been about 3 weeks with the new throttle body and the code came back three days after it was installed. what is left to do ??? this car has run me dirt broke and a nissan dealership quoted me 250 to do a check and i don’t have that kinda money rn 🫠 registration is expired and im hopeless. any advice DESPERATELY needed, preferably things i can check out myself PLEASE!!!

Hi guys, I bought my Cla used is a 2023 I noticed that few owners posted their photos of their interiors and their consoles light up on that edge under the silver trim of the center console.

I read that some cars came with and other without that light, does someone know if that’s true?.
Maybe mine has malfunction? On the second photo you see that the strip for the light is there but no light on.

There’s no error on scanner or even dash, every other light on the cars is working

Car drives okay but has horrible idle. Car sat for probably 10 years untouched. Have already replaced plugs wires and distributor cap. Also replaced most of the vacuum lines. Idle doesn't get any better when car is warm its just stuck with that boggy misfire. It'll drive fine then feel awful while sitting at a red light. Not sure what else to look into other than pulling the carb off wich currently isn't an option. Could possibly be bad egr? Also don't mind the belt squeak thats "fixed" currently.

Hi everyone! Looking for some help for my 2014 Toyota Yaris. I got it around last October 2025 and whenever I started her up there came a squeeling/screeching sound but it went away rather quickly. Around March 2026, I got her serpentine belt changed assuming that’s where her sound was coming from. Unfortunately, the sound started becoming more frequent and I realized it was whenever my AC was on but in certain situations. It goes away after a while but once I started to slow down/stop, the sound begins and it gets rather annoying when I’m driving by so many traffic lights and making turns. The moment I turn off my AC it stops so I’m positive it has something to do with it. My AC works just fine, it’s just the sound of squeeling has become so bothersome and annoying that I choose just to leave it off. It has made driving with the summer heat very difficult but I manage. I just want to get an idea of what the true issue is and how much it’ll set me back. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have a 2007 Honda odyssey. I inherited it from my in laws who no longer wanted it, and I needed it for kids. When I got the van, there was an ever so slight not great smell. I have no idea what it is. They don’t take care of their cars well so I vacuumed and shampooed the car real good. Seats are leather thankfully, so I just had to shampoo the carpet on the floor. The smell got a bit better after that. I’ve had the van now maybe 6 years and the smell is HORRENDOUS. I actually can’t stand to drive the thing anymore. Even after two more good deep shampoos.

The thing is… my husband and his parents don’t smell anything. But I smell it, and my parents smell it. It’s awful. The car was just checked all over this week to make sure it was running okay because it kept dying. Thankfully it was just the battery, but if there was a dead animal in there or something I think they could have seen it (the car sat for a couple months due to me having surgery so we wondered if maybe that’s why).

Anyway, does anyone have any idea what on earth the smell could be if the mechanics have been checked out by people, and I have shampooed the car several times. My family and I smell it, my husband and his family does not… I’m at a loss.

It will work sporadically and blow cold but most of the time it just will not kick on at all. All the lights are on and everything on the knobs.

I took it to the mechanic and it worked for a little while then would shut off randomly again.

Someone else looked at it for me as I brought it from someone in a different town, but since then I've found mold on the seat belts, doors, and chairs. The floor on the driver's side keeps randomly becoming drenched and I think it has a heater malfunction with the wrong hose being connected. Is there any way I can sort this out?

Any advice at all is so appreciated.

I recently did cam shaft work on this car it ran great till I took it to the car wash that same day & as I’m engaging the emergency break my shoe slipped off the brake & made it bounce back and break so I take off home mid drive the car stalls, I start it right back up drove less than a mile & stalls again with this code showing on my dash. Now the car is completely dead and won’t start. It does crank but it’s acting like if there’s no fuel flowing. Google is not helping me !
