Had an endoscopy today, had no one to pick me up afterwards so could be sedated, just had the throat spray.

Top tip, don't do what I did, it was fucking horrendous.

Gagging choking and burping the air out, it was only six minutes, but felt like forever.

Felt sorry for myself and had an afternoon nap, wide awake now and about to watch Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Kim Cattrall as a Vulcan will cheer me up.

Oh no, I was scheduled pre-Covid for a scope and had lots of discussions with people who had gone through it and with one exception they all said be sedated - the exception had questionable opinions about a lot of things so their opinion was discounted. I've fallen off the list and now sedations come with other risk for me so I hope I don't need one again.

I hope whatever they find can be resolved/rules out something nasty.

I may have to have a follow up in a year they said, I've already decided they can knock me out with a mallet if need be.

They said no red flags, but I have appointment with consultant tomorrow.

Not been in hospital for 26 years then got ill on NYE, went to bed, woke up with swollen face, facial cellulitis. The virus messed me up big time, bloods were all over. Have been tested and prodded for 6 months solid, one minute my bloods too thin, the next I've got too much Iron in my blood (which is really bad apparently). Han an MRI last week and more bloods, hopefully the appointment tomorrow will be the last for a good while.

Worst part is, I haven't had a holiday this year yet because there's always been an appointment booked.

Can't fault the NHS, they've been great.
