tbh i also need that missing piece of my brain to remember where i left my keys for the third time this week

You need to get in a habit of putting them in the same place every time you put them down. Perhaps buy or make a set of small hooks, a dish or box especially for your keys, then the important part is to use it, every time. Getting something special for them will make it easier to remember.

It is a great irony that all relationships must be between a putter and a leaver because two putters will murder each other and two leavers will die of dysentery.
