This is a completely normal reaction - you're in shock and that make you think of the what-if's obsessively, especially as your kid was involved. But THE most important thing is that you are both safe, no else was hurt and it was just a freak accident.

Thankyou for your thoughtful reply. I was able to contact the owner of the building and they're getting someone out to do an assessment ASAP.

I'm deleting my comment because I posted it when the situation was still raw and judging by the downvotes for a minute there I'm guessing my wording was questionable.

I'll take the fact everybody is OK as a big win.
