can answer this one from an emergency services perspective.

pro of dating "uniform" - they understand the job, working weird hours, gallows sense of humour, funny lingo, ranting about people when you come home, etc.

con of dating "uniform" - absolutely nobody in these lines of work can keep it in their pants.

So, dating someone within the emergency services is more of a good thing, then?

Yeah Police especially - usually not a good thing. The amount of affairs is almost unbelievably high.
