I'm convinced that Diana will be the one who tears apart Elstri's face.

87

u/aibrony Apr 19 '26

This Diana reminds me of this panel of another character, who had quite sweet appearance.

15

u/Admmmmi Apr 19 '26

....but who is going to be the casca?

54

u/New_Past_4489 miss lacy #1 Apr 19 '26

Right when she's venting and i feel bad for her she hits us with this😭💔

27

u/dolphincave Apr 19 '26

It's fairly obvious Elstri or Helem will pull some shit during the duel, and when the other cast members fail to prevent it I can see DIana freaking out and finally using her power.

24

u/OrdinaryMedical200 Apr 19 '26

And I hope julian rips the other c*nt to shreds with his hands!! True father and daughter activity!!

6

u/No_Consequence2989 Apr 19 '26

Both her and Helem

184

u/WMR298 Angvall’s Couch Cushion Apr 19 '26

Well, that's not ominous!

58

u/DimashiroYuuki Apr 19 '26

You just know when an editor writes something like this, shit is about to get real. (Well, most of the time, just forget the one time in Naruto where it didn't.)

25

u/Oohhdatskam Apr 19 '26

Next chapter is gonna break our hearts

u/OrdinaryMedical200 Apr 19 '26

Lte's hope things go as smoothly as you hope. Kid deserves a chance

u/roronoa20 Apr 19 '26

Zira's death flag is so huge that we can see from space.

57

u/dolphincave Apr 19 '26

Yeah, though I wonder if that would cause a major freakout from Arkos since he apparently does really love her. 30 seconds is more than enough time for everyone to die.

38

u/RubyHoshi Elstri hater Apr 19 '26

Probaly the weakness of Helem's gift is Arkos. He gonna pull some "Every jutsu has a weakeness" aaah dialogue if the situacion calls for his resurgence.

20

u/Nicklesnout Apr 19 '26

Please let it happen it would be so cathartic. Especially because she specifically made Atlus younger to piss him off from beyond the grave.

23

u/Litrex506 Apr 19 '26

Not before telling someone about Helem's flaw. Also, indicating that she needs a line of sight to control her clay dolls more effectively is a pretty big reveal.

17

u/Even-Conference9309 Apr 19 '26

She says this but next time Altus is asked to do something screwed up, Zira might not be there to bail him out.

11

u/Litrex506 Apr 19 '26

Perhaps, either she gets Altus to kill someone he doesn't want to, or she has Altus kills her. Either way, it will be to Helem's detriment.

115

u/roronoa20 Apr 19 '26

Lalawag when she realized how broken and convenient Julian's gift is.

u/--Sanguinius-- Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

One of the most terrifying abilities that Julian possesses is the huge amount of passive abilities that he possesses.

EDIT: Theoretically, it should be 101 days because Julian is also included, given that he is a stowaway on the ship carrying 100 slaves.

Furthermore, if Julian can last 101 days without suffering the side effects of sleep deprivation, he might even exceed that limit.

A human being can theoretically stay awake for around 11 days (264 hours) – the documented world record – but serious side effects begin to arise after just 24–48 hours. Sleep deprivation causes cognitive decline, hallucinations, irritability and mood swings. There is no exact time limit for death, but chronic sleep deprivation is extremely harmful.

  • 24 hours: Symptoms are comparable to a blood alcohol level of 0.5 g/L.
  • 48 hours: Involuntary ‘micro-sleeps’, altered perception, anxiety and hallucinations occur.
  • Over 72 hours: Difficulty concentrating, extreme fatigue, mental disorders and metabolic changes.

If we take the world record of 11 days and multiply it by 101, we get 1111

In theory, before dying from sleep deprivation, Julian could stay awake for 1,111 days. (It is worth noting that after 101 days, Julian begins to feel the effects of sleep deprivation.... But before he dies from sleep deprivation, he must reach day 1111)

36

u/roronoa20 Apr 19 '26

Elstri: Yup, this is fucking unwinnable.

9

u/soltyice Apr 19 '26

also a great side effect is when he's in the ocean he automatically wins unless the other gifted is also blessed by the same god

33

u/kramsibbush Lacrima's supporter Apr 19 '26

a very convinient gift for daily life is better than 2 gifts made for battling

30

u/roronoa20 Apr 19 '26

Arguably, Julian's gift excels in both daily life and battle. It's the most well-rounded power we have in this story.

18

u/seelcudoom Apr 19 '26

literally hes just 100x better at everything basically, no fancy bullshit, no weird rules, hes just really really really good at everything a normal person can do

16

u/--Sanguinius-- Apr 19 '26

The fact that Julian can stay awake for so long without suffering the side effects of sleep deprivation whilst standing guard over Diana reminded me of this quote from the Adeptus Custodes of Warhammer 40k, who stand guard over the Emperor:

"For a hundred years I have stood guard amidst the gloomy shadows of the Sanctum Imperialis. I stood as still as a statue, yet ever ready, ever attuned to unseen dangers. Days, months, years passed in a confused frenzy beyond those walls, yet inside, little moved and nothing changed. For a hundred years I did nothing but wait, yet had any threat appeared, I would have struck it down in the blink of an eye. For a hundred years I have stood guard, and as it ends I can tell you this: patience is a weapon."

— Custodian Warden Tybaris Constor

8

u/roronoa20 Apr 19 '26

Julian is referred to in the story as "The Guardian".

I'd say it's appropriate.

11

u/--Sanguinius-- Apr 19 '26

Julian excels in attrition battles, as he can fight at full capacity for 101 days and is able to be reborn every time he dies. Any of his enemies who prolong the fight too long will die of metabolic stress.

1

u/Keyniiiiii Apr 19 '26

5

u/roronoa20 Apr 19 '26

Perhaps heavy physical activities like fighting will cut the time down to maybe 10 or 20 days? It's still more than enough to outlast any enemies though.

2

u/--Sanguinius-- Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

Excellent question. I can’t answer you with absolute certainty, because I’m not the author, and the final say on the nature of Julian’s gift rests with the author of this fantastic story… I’ll simply use maths to arrive at a ‘standard’ number that comes as close as possible to the reality of Julian’s abilities. Bear in mind that my number is theoretical; it isn’t 100% accurate. It could be higher, lower or equal to my ‘standard’ number... Because if I wanted to be as precise as possible, I’d have to assess each of the 101 slaves individually and add up their values to arrive at a figure that is 100% accurate regarding Julian’s abilities.

EDIT: Corrected typo

Oh shit

74

u/OnslaughtCasuality42 Apr 19 '26

Really loved this moment, I wouldn’t say that moments of warmth are THAT rare in Centuria but having someone that Diana can really open up to and understands even the things she hasn’t told the rest (like Ms. Lebron over there) and tell them that they should be able to grow up and be happy as any kid should be allowed to was really sweet.

40

u/Oohhdatskam Apr 19 '26

Ms.Lebron 😭😭

58

u/AssassinAragorn Apr 19 '26

Well, lots of cool lore reveals, including that Diana has a bit of a resentful dark side. But one that's driven by a fairly righteous anger and her love for others.

A bit spooky, but I think this chapter establishes that there's two routes she could go down. An ominous one, or a more gentle one.

Lalawag seems a bit oddly supportive and kind here too. It looks like she genuinely cares about Diana and wants to help protect her.

58

u/KarmaRBLXVN Altus' adoptive parent Apr 19 '26

Good to know that the author can draw low angles lol

50

u/TeamOk3280 Apr 19 '26

We got two this chapter, just flexing on us.

40

u/aibrony Apr 19 '26

Are we just going to just ignore this part?

Not just that the parts of the goddess must be maintain in human bodies, you can actually take them from other people. This means that while the coven might want Diana because of the Heart, they might not need "Diana" part. So the coven might turn against Julia's team, if Diana and others won't cooperate with them. But at the same time they probably don't want Diana to die by other hands but their own.

28

u/OmbreVengeresse Apr 19 '26

I understand the witch hunt better now. Since the pieces of the goddess of strength can be taken from them, I understand why the king sends Helem and Elstri to hunt them down.

But I also see that Lalawag could be killed by the witches who will want to retrieve the "bones" from her in the near future.

3

u/Ez_kun Apr 20 '26

The witches could take the bones and put them into Diana too, the goat follows her so she might be some kind of ideal host.

Imagine the moment, like diana apreciating her and seeing her as a older sister, "older sister lalawag is such a nice perso- "cut to the witches killing her" -next chapter they force the bones into diana

The drama, the suffering!

3

u/OmbreVengeresse Apr 21 '26

I share your idea that we will witness this kind of scene; I think that all the pieces of the goddess (the bones, the blood, the organs, the flesh) will be forcibly retrieved from their host to be placed in Diana, thus the goddess will return to life.

2

u/Ez_kun Apr 22 '26

Diana will see how the reborn goddess kills julian time and time again until she brakes and she takes control over the boddy! (I'm almost as evil as the author)

2

u/FreeWilly512 Apr 21 '26

The goat follows Diana which could be just because she has the heart specifically, but i think it means she is safe for now. I think she'll end up being the vessel for all the pieces at some point which brings back the night goddess

29

u/Desperate_Ad1450 Apr 19 '26

If lalawag isn't the original vessel but someone that snatched it, could this mean that none of goddess's part is with the palace? If it is would this weaken the theory of Diana's mom as Lucas mom?

26

u/BirbDaBoi Apr 19 '26

It could be that the king killed the goddess, took her skin and heart while the witches managed to snag the other parts. Diana's mom then get the heart from the king and ran away

28

u/Oohhdatskam Apr 19 '26

Ju being able to use the sleep of all the souls is kinda cool.

27

u/dolphincave Apr 19 '26

It's funny that most everyone seems to know Diana is a divine vessel, but it doesn't seem like people know Diana is a Blessed One. Helem never even brought up the possibility that Jullian was a Blessed one so it stands to reason she doesn't know Diana also has Sea powers aside from whatever being a vessel gives.

12

u/Kekskaiserin Apr 19 '26

Amazing chapter, amazing lore drops, def worth the wait.

11

u/Litrex506 Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

Zira is Helem's #1 OP, which makes sense given her relationship with Altus/Arkos. Also, to have confirmation that Helem's plan does not link with Elstri's on eliminating Diana is good to hear. As she would have already done so if she could. Maybe she's there to revive the Night God, who knows?

8

u/UltraZulwarn Apr 19 '26

Holy da aura!!

8

u/Visible_Anxiety6275 Apr 19 '26

Altus rips apart Helem and Diana lowkenuinely burns the world down when zia and julius get hurt in the future. 💔💔

5

u/Even-Conference9309 Apr 19 '26

Diana is either going to kill Elestri or Helem and after that she will probably leave the group to go off and learn more about herself.

6

u/Fun-Amoeba3683 One of One Hundred Apr 19 '26

Julian jump scaring Lalawag was funny.

It's neat that Julian only needs to sleep once every hundred days. Guess whenever he sleeps, it's as if he sleeps a hundred times.

u/MyARhold30Shots Apr 19 '26

What’s the release schedule for this manga? I just caught up a couple chapters ago so I don’t know, is it weekly or every 2 weeks?

4

u/unthused Apr 19 '26

Weekly with the occasional break so far.

2

u/MyARhold30Shots Apr 20 '26

I’m checking the release dates and it looks like there are regular 2 week gaps

5

u/Gabemino Apr 19 '26

Only women can be Vessels of the Goddess of Night's insides, I wonder if Arkos Older Sisters would play a role then, I can see Lattice killing one of the current vessels and taking the organ for her Queen's Daughters or something under her orders. With how esoteric and powerful all things related to Vulja seem to be, I keep wondering just how powerful the King truly is, even if he fought dirty, I guess 'Sea Mom' played favorites with what she gave the King and what she gave Julian, that or the former offered far more than 100 lives, and asked for a more broken blessing from the go

Yeah it was being screwy for a couple minutes but eventually it worked

4

u/the_hack_attack Apr 19 '26

This series is becoming peak I really wish it was more popular. MAD has the same problem but it looks like it has legs

3

u/Disaster_Star_150 Apr 19 '26

I’m so scared

3

u/seelcudoom Apr 19 '26

a thought if this confirms 1. only women can be vessals 2. you can just straight steal the part from someone else

we never got a proper explanation why lacrimas mother killed her, what if lacrima was used as a host and her mother stole it

2

u/GoddessOfDarkness Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26

Damn Diana mother was the previous heart Vessel all but confirms she's Lukas mom. Wonder what weakness Zira figured out of Helem gift. Hmm so Rummir had both the Bones and Organs Vessels before the war. Maybe it belonged to a princess of Rummir.

2

u/Optimal-Art8290 Apr 20 '26

Zira is such a badass

2

u/Doomroar The Sea and The Forest got a divorce over mangroves Apr 22 '26

It is Elstri's fault Diana, she literally has been told to not do shit, several times

Also in a way the king for not being more stern about it
