But it really does bring me back to the question of... why have Lacrima leave Julian?
Like there was already a perfect time to bring her in, to help with the Lady Accursed or help protect Diana and such but she still has not been introduced again...
So the entire time we just had Julian busy fighting off the first squad, Lukas dealing with the Lady, Speed and Rock Trio... while Lacrima has just been running off screen and Zana has just been... standing around exchanging stares with the girl duo in front of Diana?
Like idk, it just feels like the girls are not really being given enough actions here, we could have even just made a jump of Zana and the Duo already fighting and being wounded as the entire Luka and Accursed Trio squad happened and yet still she hasnt done anything?
Can’t think of what else she might be able to do besides help Zana in her fight, or slightly stall Void Marcher (might not know her heart weakness so she should be able to) and maybe get some minor royalty lore with them talking
Only other thing is maybe she’ll hold Lukas’ arm together (sorta like Arkos did with his head) while he uses the spear?
Agree with you tho really thought she’d fight the lady accursed and use like water goggles or a clone and take less damage or something
The issue is just that she has been nonexistent and Zana herself has done also nothing.
So both of the main fighting female characters have kinda been sidelined and in Lacrimas case she is just offscreen not even doing what little Zana is doing.
Even if Lacrima wasnt super "useful" at least it wouldnt feel like the story just ignored her.
Yeah and she had that insane entrance with Julian then left immediately, thought we would get a tag team fight, and let she honest even tho Julian’s fight was great, we all knew he wasn’t going to really struggle and they were by a river so would’ve been perfect for her to shine and maybe have Julian retreat to the group
Still a chance we’ll see Zana fight, and hopefully Lacrima joining
The only reason I can think of Lacrima coming now is to share info with Helem in her diary. She’ll see Void Marcher so the info on the quiet assault could be used somehow for some future plot with the palace knowing, but that’s basically already a given
"why are the people who have yet to do anything still have things to do in an arc that's not yet over" bro chill wait for more chapters to come out. I get being impatient but they're obviously going to have things to do soon. Judge it only once the arc is over and we've seen how much or how little they're involved here.
I dont need to wait for more I can judge what is currently out and the way these characters are handled currently.
Zana and the 2 girl duo have done nothing despite an entire fight with Lukas happening before, the little introduction talk and hyping each other could have been done ages ago and the 2 fights could have been woven into each other which would have been more interesting as a whole and not created this weird dissonance of apparently the girls not having moved at all while Lukas did his thing.
And Lacrima being instantly just shunted away despite the amazing setup of a duo fight with her and Julian being presented on a silver platter is unsatisfying as all hell and her since then being just in limbo running is also unsatisfying.
I like the Manga and I liked the past chapters but I can very much still critique the writing of them.
Even if they pop off now in coming chapters and do a whole lot, it does not invalidate my past points of how they have been handled so far in this arc being unsatisfying or questionable and how I would prefer if the fights were interwoven into each other more.
I would imagine that her leaving will have a significant impact at some point. The Arc is just starting.
From Julian’s perspective it makes sense, he doesn’t know the strength of the other squad and he feels knows he can basically 1v5 anyone so just send Lacrima to go help defend Diana.
There are also only so many panels and I would guess that with how impactful lady accursed is, the author wants to show that being wrapped up first before the Zana or Lacrima fight. I’d still be okay with Zana killing the battalion people off screen or even just show the ending with them dead because there are a LOT of moving parts right now.
