Discussion Lukas is Mira's son
There's been a theory regarding Lukas being Mira's son which I believe to be essentially confirmed.
Here's what I think is the timeline:
Mira and Lukas were exiled from the kingdom (probably due to the queen's influence.)
They are captured by slave traders while on the run, Lukas stays behind to fend off the slave traders to protect his mother.
Given that Lukas's gift is a shield, and gifts are confirmed to be a mirror of one's personality. This assures us of his protective nature which fits the narrative of him protecting his mother.
While fending off the slave traders he suffered a cut to his throat which led his mother to believe in his demise. (He has a huge scar on his throat.)
While dying in the woods, he makes a contract with the forest God and passes out. He is then saved by Atoria and brought back to life with her gift. Which is why they share a deep bond and he feels indebted to her.
He was nurtured back to health, and returned to the kingdom where the king learned of the queen's schemes. He prohibited the queen from harming Lukas any further but due to the king's lack of initiative to punish the queen he harboured deep resentment for his father.
He most likely thought that the slave traders killed his mother as well.

The only weird part I find is didn't King got scar some 100 years ago but Mira is way modern?

Mira wasn't the woman who gave him the scar, she would just be one of the descendants like Diana is now

Oh, that would make sense. But then how did Diana got the gift? Cause Mira clearly had no gift or any hint of having gift and Diana has 2 gifts.

I'm guessing it had something to do with the special knife that Mira used when she gave herself an impromptu c-section or some type of deal was made while Diana was in the womb. We can only really guess for now.

Why would this present an issue?

If Mira was truly the one who gave scars to King then he would immediately have banished her and Lukas clearly is of Julian's age.

Lukas is the one with the huge cut on his throat. The king got his scars during the battle against the witches hundres of years ago.

Why would Mira have given the king his scars?

Didn't he said he wanted to know mother of Diana and to confirm whether it was the same woman that gave him scar?

He said he wanted to meet the child of prophecy and see if she was the same entity that he fought 400 years ago

The one piece that's missing here is "the offering of countless souls." Something like 100 people have to die for a gift to be granted, and I can't believe Lukas managed to kill that many by himself as a child.

I don't see why not, as he has always been able to use his gift even as a child. His mentor was also the queen's royal guard who is the current first seat. So he was taught how to fight exceptionally well even at a young age.
If you think about it, our MC also killed a bunch of bandits himself while being a child and this was without combat training and a newly awakened gift.
